I thought this would happen, decided to post the thread anyway. Hey, it took 20something pages for it to turn bad, and it was fun while it lasted. I'd appreciate it if people didn't snark back. Really, it just makes it worse. Ignore & go about your business.

Is anyone here saying overweight people are terrible human beings who suck? No. Are people saying that short people are inferior to tall people? No. Are people saying that if you don't wear a certain label, or brand of clothing, or type of shoe, that you aren't a decent person and you should kill yourself? No.

It's just a silly thread, full of members' opinions on what is tacky, tasteless, unclassy (is that a word?) I don't believe any rules were broken (I'll go check though, wouldn't want anyone to think this thread was being treated differently than any others here...) and it's not meant to be taken so seriously.

I wear skorts, I'm overweight, I'm short, I wear capris, I've had a French pedi - yet somehow, I'm still finding the strength to go on after being "torn apart."

So, the ledge was on in my house as well, and I remembered my sig pic had Stevie raising her arm, so I thought I would put it there, and it would be funny (to me, at least).

I actually wanted to start a thread about it, and laugh, but then I thought that was hella stupid - which is fine with me, but other more uptight and less silly souls don't always appreciate that sort of pointless, non musical goofery.

I've noticed when I have cocktails it's best to think and rethink something I want to post. If you know what I mean.
And I still don't get what the hell "odor blocking technology" is supposed to be.
I don't know what odor blocking technology is supposed to be either. I love it when, on certain deoderant commercials, they show you that stripe **** on the deoderant stick as if that measley little stripe is the "odor blocking technology" here to save the human race from pit stink for good.

I also love those men's razor commercials that show you the 3-D image of a guy's face being shaved and how the blade goes under the skin to shave one's face as closely as is humanly (or divinely) possible. Do we really need all that technology for a razor commercial? I tell you, the melodrama is totally ridiculous.

Mine either. I think they're fine. They're cheap and stackable, easy to clean & store. How else are you supposed to have seating for 20 or 30 people at your house/yard? Of course, Theresa only has about 4 friends, so she doesn't have to be concerned with that, apparently.

BTW, Theresa? When I come up to visit, you'd better have an expensive lounge chair for me to sit on, since you're so particular about seating.

And so you understand.

And Paula, maybe you have the strength to go on, but my self esteem is once again shattered. It's in tatters. *shedoobeh*.

I still think it's tacky to talk about millions of pointless things that are tacky -
Or more accurately, I think being judgemental about clothes is tacky. So can't I say that just as much as someone else can say they think Uggs are tacky? I also think it's tacky to say things about "fat people", and imply that they shouldn't do whatever they want, whenever they want. My panties weren't exactly in a bunch about all that, I just kind of labeled you all shallow, judgemental, souless bitches and moved on, but I still think I can say what I think.

I don't really criticize fashion or stuff like that (yet?).

There is one occasion I can think of which merited the term "tacky." My mom and I were in line at Jeffrey's Hamburger Court and a young couple (a man and a woman) were in front of us. The man leaned over and asked, "what underwear are you wearing?" Then he pulled the back of her pants out and down, pulled her underwear up and looked at it. Perhaps that was just disrespectful. My mom and I were incredulous that public underwear and pants handling took place.
You're so bad.

BTW - your gross underwear story reminded me of something. I was in line for the bumper cars at Darien Lake a few years ago & saw a guy grab his girl's titty. For no apparent reason - they were just standing there, he grabbed & squeezed it, then let go. Her expression didn't even change, it was like nothing had happened.

PDA's are all a bit tacky IMO, but this was ridiculous. There were kids in that line! And apparently, since I remember most of the details, I was scarred for life.

Exactly. That's all one has to say, and then we get it!

the thing is Amber, you're generally good-natured and positive and have a reputation for being so. I get your humor, and it's well-taken. You are rarely snarky in my opinion .

I don't have a problem with thongs (except that they hurt between my toes) that are clean and look nice. Now, where's that pic of my orange thongs.....

BTW - haven't worn them since. They really hurt my toes!

But I do agree that cheap foam flipflops are for the beach only. They get dirty, and they fall apart, and it just doesn't look good. Don't you remember my flipflop nightmare story? When I tripped over a crack in the driveway in them when I was 10 & broke my toe?!?! I will NEVER recover.

How about jellies? Are jellies tacky? I've seen them in several stores lately, and it looks like they're making a fashion comback
