LOL! No, I'm not gay. (1 in a million guys on here, I know!) I don't think Rainbows are necessarily either, at least I've never known them to be associated. They were just a popular brand of leather flip-flops that it seemed everyone at my undergrad wore, and I've just been getting them ever since then because they're very comfortable and last forever. I guess you can put them in the same category with aviator sunglasses, popped collars, and seersucker suits...something to do with the utter ridiculousness that is college Greek life!

Listen, honey- those flip-flop things are a tragedy and do not belong on your feet unless you are in an aquatically challenged area. Yes, there is something wrong with it. Flip-flops/thongs <---- as we called it back in the day- are extremely casual wear. Like Comfyshorts or a bathing suit or trunks fer chrissakes!!! They are NOT to worn to anything outside of your abode. Period.

Exactly. And they're horrible. Paula, honey, my virtual memory is not remembering you as --short--, so I'm guessing you're alright- although to be honest with you, the only person who can even remotely pull off capris is Nicole Kidman- and even she has a tendency to look awful in them.....

Talking about Uggs being Tacky is so Dissention-thought-of-it-a-year-and-a-half ago-and-several-people-discussed-it-at-length-in-fact-I-think-I-remember-that-exact-picture. Which, of course, is tacky - but in no way diminishes the yuckiness of the boots. I don't hate them as vehemently. I think I may be desensitized from seeing so many packs of teeny Asian girls wearing them. I've built up immunity.

And if my hunch is right, you are going to be one sad, sad, angry man the next time you see me. But let me explain why above pants are cute: They make your waist look cute, or rather if you have a cute waist they accentuate it well. And as you may imagine, they flatter larger thighs as well. Has it become a crime to be short while I wasn't looking? I like being short. Short girls are cuter, because they are smaller.
I've also worn a dress over thin silken pants. Not jeans, but still. It looked really cute, too. But not with flats, higher heels only.

I should probably bring a gun just for protection if we meet....

Hm, I wear my flip flops a lot. I also think a French Manicure of (short) toenails looks nice. That's two strikes against me!

A couple of months ago I had an ingrown toenail that became so infected that I had to go to the doctor. I thought she would cut it out or something, but she wouldn't touch it. Gave me an antibitotic. It was the grossest thing I'd ever seen in my life- I thought I was going to lose my damned toe. Anyway, I keep my toenails very short and neat- some people are just more prone to them than others.

This IS a bitchy thread. And all in all - I think that as long as a person is comfortable, feels good and feels as though they look good then they should wear what they want.

I have capris that are cute as hell on me! I LOVE flip flops and wear them often - it IS ok - they are no longer just a "beach sandal" and gaucho pants are way cute.

Guys in capris? Why not? If they look good then go for it!

But the line does have to be drawn somewhere - you are right in the fact that panty hose (esp. w/ the reinforced toe) should never, under any circumstances, be worn with open toed or heeled shoes. Never.

****ing word, though. What pisses me off the most is when people wear gauchos with Uggs, and especially, with knee boots. It looks seriously retarded. And if they're not the right size, gauchos really widen from the hip down.

I also hate capris. Maybe it's just me, but they're not very flattering. I don't mind flip flops, but I only wear them to school and like, grocery shopping or something. I'd never wear them anywhere else, though. I much prefer stilletoes, combat/knee boots, or Converses.
