Here's one that just happened to me last week:

The bass player in my band died on Memorial Day (RIP Mike, we miss you)...his funeral was last Thursday. A musician who had been in a band with him (main instrument, guitar) was hitting us up to join our band as bass player, AT THE FUNERAL! We HAVE three guitarists as is...two of us alternated playing bass to finish out the night at the gig the night Mike was taken to the hospital by paramedics. The LAST thing we need is a lead guitarist trying to pass himself off as a bass player...we have two of them already. We're looking for a REAL bass player...and anyone with ANY kind of intelligence would know that we're not going to be looking for one at our just departed one's funeral, either. What moron.

-Men (especially overweight men) in overalls
-Pompadors
-sequined socks
-pants with words across the ass (if you can easily fit the word UNIVERSITY across your ass - you probably should not adverstive that)
-people who talk and talk incessently though never seem to have anything of value to say or add to conversations.

Tacky:

Wearing caps/hats in restaurants. I'm talking medium- to upper-scale...not sports bars or Denny's...anything goes there! I hate this, and it embarasses me when I go out with friends and one of them is sporting a baseball cap. I just know everyone is looking!

My grandparents are such sticklers for this that even if they have just the kids over their house for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, they will make a comment if someone is wearing a hat at the table.
