I remember being in St Louis the final weekend of the 1998 season and seeing McGwire hit I think it was his 66th HR.

I am suprised the new stadium will be an open air design.

As for Scott Erickson, Isnt he a pitcher now in the Yankees bullpen, or do I have him confused with Kevin Appier???

With the steroid talk, that season is tainted. But at the time, it was magical to me. My favorite period of the game, ever.

No Scott Erickson's retired now I beileve. He had too many elbow problems. As far as the open air thing goes, We've fought for 10 years to get something done. As far as I'm concerned, anythign is better than the dome, although I've hadn many many great memories there over the years. It's like a guy in Seattle told me back in 1997 about the Kingdome, he pretty much grew up going to games there, so he said he'd really miss it in that sense.

Talking I was watching..

"Baseball Tonight" on EPSN today, And they showed the best "Red State/Blue State" map I have ever seen.

All the states except for New York were shaded in the "Blue" whereas New York was the lone state shaded in "Red". The map was showing the poll results of the following question:

"In the AL East, Which team would you like to see not win the Division?"

States in red were voting for the Red Sox to not win the Division.
States in blue were voting for the Yankees to not win the Division, I guess we can say which team is the least popular team in the US cant we??

Too bad the Yanks beat the Sox again 2-1 tonight.
