Janet, you will feel so much better once it's done and over with. I'm praying for all my Ledgies who are having surgery done soon.

My sister had her gall bladder out yesterday as an outpatient. She was a bit nauseous afterward & in a little pain, but she's got her meds, so she's fine. Her husband is home with her.

Good luck to those getting surgery.

Lee

I hope you have some wild beautiful dreams on your sedative, and that you recover from the surgery quickly.

Can you all think good thoughts for me? I seem to be having some major anxiety over this very simple procedure. Actually, it's the anesthesia that has me neurotic, which makes no sense because I've had general anesthesia 5 times with no problems. I keep having dreams that I don't wake once they've knocked me out.

I need a sedative, I think.
You know my thoughts are with you ear. ONe of the absolutely nicest people here!

Maybe I watch too many hospital shows and read too many hospital novels but don't they have a reversal drug that they can administer if your vitals start to plummet? If so, I was thinking that would be something you can think about to help reduce the anxiety.

... will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, even if only to wish for your peace of mind and speedy recovery... -k?

I love you for this, seriously.

And thank you to everyone else for your well wishes. I'm scheduled for 8:45AM which is great news. I was worried I'd have a late surgery which would suck (in light of the whole "nothing to eat after midnight")

Best of luck with the surgery, both JannieC and Pisces Queen. Just imagine that there is a ball of white light around you and that nothing can harm you.

Good luck all 3 of you!

Janet, it's an endoscopic removal right? I've had several friends (seriously ... at least 3, maybe 4) have their gall bladders removed in the last year or so. And they all said the surgery was pretty easy, plus they feel better than ever now.

It is, except there is some concern because I have had 3 laporoscopic (two ectopic pregnancies and one laporoscopy) surgeries and there may be some scar tissue involved. If they can't get through , they'll do it the old-fashioned way- with an incision, etc. I'm totally thinking they'll be able to do it the easy way. And I know I will feel a million times better once it's out.

Hi Jannie. I didn't have a chance to post earlier but I am thankful you have a lot of well-wishers here at the ledge - we all love you to pieces!

I would imagine you are nervous on the surgery. If I could be there I would hold your hand and say everything is going to be ok. Surgeries are scary and, even though you have had some, there are the other concerns that you posted here that must be even scarier. I wish for all good things for you tomorrow. I am thankful you have your family to care for and tend to you before and after.

Take care sweetie. As soon as you can get your hands on a laptop/puter send us a quick note...we will be here waiting to give you bunches of hugs Jannie.
