Default Patron Saints of Pop: An Apostilary Homage

Hi guys,

I while ago I posted about how I'd lost this realy cool CD called "Fleetwood Mac - Patron Saints of Pop: An Apostilary Homage" It's a CD of covers done by a bunch of independant punk/emo bands. David was nice enough to upload a few tracks for me and I was thrilled. Well, I found a place where the whole CD can be purchased. It was put out by Undercover Records, an indie lable that is, unfortunately, no more. But the guy who ran it still has some CDs left. His name is JJ and he's selling them for $8 each. Not a bad price. Keep in mind, this CD is not for everybody. Emo and punk are not always pleasant to the ears, but if you are a diehard fan or a completist, you may want to have it, just to have it. I, personally, really enjoy a lot of the tracks on it.

You can buy the CD here: http://www.undercoverarts.com/uncv/undercover.html

Some tracks are fantastic, others are just painful. But, all-in-all, it is an interesting listen.

It's been ages since I heard it but I recall "I Know I'm Not Wrong" being pretty good. The version of Gypsy by the band "Home" might sound like noise to some, but it's got a very haunting feeling to it. The singing in emo is not supposed to be what most people would call pretty, but rather letting loose a feeling in your gut, and these guys let out a sadness with that song that makes me wonder if they knew the real story behind it.

It's like Nico. She was never a great singer by technical terms but her songs have brought me to tears more than once. Listen to Chelsea Girl and you just hear the sorrow of a broken soul in her voice.

I just got my CD. I'd forgotten how much I loved this CD. The cover of "I Know I'm Not Wrong" by The Gourds is great. They also did a great bluegrass cover of Snoop Doggy Dog's "Gin and Juice".

I agree. I love this cd. It's miles better than the Rumors Legacy one.
