I had a similar reaction when I first heard Talk to Me on the radio, how nasal it sounded. Coke is the worst drug for a vocalist. Whitney Houston, sadly, is experiencing a similar change with her voice.

Now a word in defense of Street Angel -- I love the cover. Understated sexiness indeed. Sure, there are some dreadful songs. Basically most of the second half. But in there are some real, underrated gems. Docklands? Why does everyone hate Docklands?

yes. i wanna know this too. DOckLanDs is the **** man. It aint no Street Angel, but it's a great song. Lyrics aside. THe music is great and her voice is great, and LIVE..........AWESOME. i think people don't like it coz 1, she didn't write it and 2, why would Stevie Nicks go to let alone SING about a laundromat. i don't think it has to be interpreted literally. if anything, i think it's a LOT like DTBIC but her she's out of place with the world, people aren't going to tell her what to do, let's just get away

Street Angel is my least favourite Stevie album - not to say it is awful, but 'worse' than the other albums.

The song 'Street Angel' itself is nothing short of brilliant, 'Maybe Love' 'Unconditional Love' 'Greta' 'Blue Denim' 'Kick It' and a few others are cool - but over-all the album is blah.

I don't think it is so much the pictures that are awful on SA - its the DESIGN that looks like it was made on microsoft publisher 1995 that is appauling

But if Street Angel is as bad as Stevie is going to get, then we are lucky she hasn't really been all that bad at all...

Didn't Dave LaChapple take the photos? There is no way with Dave on board that you could ever have a bad photo...

My least favorite album is OSOTM, although there are highlights (Rooms on Fire, Ooh My Love). Her voice here is not that bad. She still shows some emotion and strength and hasn't yet slipped into the "Klonopin Monotone" of Street Angel. My problem with this album is the production and sluggishness of the songs. She never rocks out. It's all keyboards, with the occasional guitar here and there. I think it works on some songs but Rupert Hine really should have displayed a little more variety in his production. I just don't care for the overall sound. But I do love the cover

Why is "That Made Me Stronger" so disliked?? I'm just curious, because I've read this many times on the list. IMHO, I love this song, and I also think it's one of the best collaborations I've ever heard from Stevie. It's one of my favorites from TISL. So what does everyone not like about it?

As for the worst album, for me it's a tie between Rock A Little (because of the production, not the songs) and The Other Side Of The Mirror; again, not because of the songs, because of the "production and arrangement by Rupert Hine"; as I've said before, I think of TOSOTM as "The Rupert Hine Show with Special Guest Stevie Nicks".

The verses I think are not too bad, the music/arrangement/production... ehh, okay. But good lord, the chorus. I can't think of anything more horribly awkward in Stevie's entire oeuvre. The melody of it is just kind of goofy, and the lyrics are so horribly obvious and awkwardly constructed and "that made me hold on to me" and ugh, make it stop.

My answer is very simple, I hate the music. If I don't like the music to the song I won't like the song no matter how great the vocals and/or lyrics are. So that's all it comes down to for me. I don't like the sound of the song or the melody. Verses and choreses do nothing for me. Just blah, I get nothing and immidiately want to fast forward to the next song. You may ask "why" I don't like the music and there really isn't an answer in this particular case. It's like certain foods, either you like them or you don't. It's your brain chemistry, it's not really a choice a lot of the time. Ok I'm way over analyzing here, back to pych 101 lol.

Agreed. The melody of "That Made Me Stronger" is completely tuneless. And the chorus, especially, is just....... blah.
