I'm trying to think of something...I don't want to ask something totally lame (that I don't even care what the answer is), but I don't want to ask something totally out of line, either.

Tower: Didn't you use to be a singer? What did you sing? When/why did you stop?

This question is for Brian, Estranged4life

What do you consider the best brand of blank CDs and DVDs and where do you buy them from?

I still am (for all intents and purposes) as much of a singer/songwriter as I used to be, except for now I am on hiatus/bandless. What does that mean??? Hmmmm......

I have been a singer and instrumentalist all my life. I was a music major in college- I had a double major: voice and bassoon. After college I went to work to pay bills and started dabbling in songwriting. My best friend and I formed a duo and started writing intently. Later we expanded to a trio- two female voices and myself, with all three of us playing guitar, piano and other various instruments. We recorded an acoustic album as an attempt to get management/label interest. We played all over Southern California for years. The whole acoustic thing was not satisfying me, so we branched out and added a rhythm section. That incarnation also recorded an album (and opened for Waddy Wachtel on one occasion). After the album, we had problems with the drummer (jail) and the bassist (flake/psycho). Those problems combined with directional differences and my, ahem, nervous breakdown resulted in the band falling apart.

Two thirds of the trio (me being one of the thirds) has attempted to get the whole thing going again on a couple of occasions, without success. Things change, people change- blah, blah, blah....

What did we sing? A lot of people compared our style us to Crosby, Stills, & Nash (and Young ). We'd get some Fleetwood Mac-y comps every once in a while. I have a piano and a guitar at home. My primary rock instrument is the piano/keys. I play and sing at the piano pretty much every day. I haven't been writing much lately- I'm kind of like Stevie in that I don't have much to write about these days. For me, it's harder to compose when I'm happy. And a lot of my issues have been said and done, and I prefer not to revisit the same old topic- unlike Miss Nicks.

I have been having a hard time trying to come up with questions that won't sound like Beauty Pageant questions (not that those are the type asked so far, but those are the only kind I had so far) and suddenly I have three.

Amber: Are you still taking hyaluronic acid? If so, what is your opinion of it now?
Brian Have you seen "Some Kind Of Monster?"
Christy-Wondergirl9847 (or any Ledgie) What's your Superpower?

See my posts in the "Which Fleetwood Mac member would you have been?" thread in the Rumours forum for the answers to this and many other compelling questions.

Cartman: Oh, Stan, Kyle, just the guys I wanted to see! My NAMBLA organization is having a very important benefit in my honor.

Kyle: They are?

Cartman: We're gonna have a big, mature party at this hotel, and I can invite all my mature friends that I want. And that means I'm gonna invite everybody! Except for you guys! Nyanyanyanyah nyah nyah! Nyanyanyanyah nyah nyah!

Stan: [angry] We don't wanna go to some stupid adult meeting anyway!

Cartman: Well, that's nice, 'cause you can't go.

Kyle: We don't wanna go!

Cartman: You can't go.

Kyle: We don't WANNA go!

Cartman: No, you CAN'T go. [turns around and walks away] Hey, Clyde, Butters, check this out

Stan: Dude, maybe we do need to start being more mature.

Kyle: Yeah. I guess we gotta try to get into that club, too.
