TUSK - Original artwork by Peter Beard

If anyone is interested I just put up for auction the original collage artwork for the TUSK album sleeve. It is available for view at Swann Galleries it is sale #2080/Lot 284 - $10,000 - $15,000. I purchased it in 1984 from Sotheby's. Awesome collage!!!! ONE OF A KIND!!!! They only show 1 piece - sale is 2 pieces.

I'd never pay so much for them, but boy, those would be lovely to hang up on the wall.

That is really awesome! I had emailed the Beard people asking if Peter ever autographed stuff. Said that I was a fan thanks to his work w/ FM. Got a snarky "holier than thou" response that he doesn't "sign" anything. Puh-lease. Even w/ the FM photo's and the coolness of it being so unique and original, PB can KMA! lol

What a jerk. When people act that way, it makes me just want to hit them. Which is rare, cause I'm never physically violent. Neal Preston, the photographer, is the same way. And Martin Campbell. THAT guy was a complete and utter douchebag (he directed GoldenEye and Mask of Zorro).

As for Pete being a dbag...well it was his "people" but surely instructed as so by Petey. It does make me angry as well. I do wish I still had the email I sent back. It was SO smart ass! You would have been proud. Something to the effect of him being all that he is today thanks to people appreciating his work, etc. Oh wait, who knows your name today?
Also, there were 2 grammar issues in the email, AND their site addie was screwed up. I made a little jab at "superiority obviously not compensating error." Sorta mean, but again, their response was just so cold and "eff you!." NOT cool.

Wait a second......what photo? I took a few fotos at some shows way back, but I don't post those. I'm a really bad photographer, although I once got a nice purply sunset up at Idyllwild.

The ones in your sig. That's not taken by you? I'm sorry. I don't read every thread. I know many people have commented on your sig pics...but I thought they were taken by you.

(And nothing wrong bout a good sunset/purply sky pic!

ah, okay my new sig!! Glad you like it! It's by dorian boese who was from the olden days. I wish I had got all of dorian's los angeles photos but alas I didn't. But I've cried many a tear since those days so I will not cry again.

Yes, I took a good shot of the purply sunset, but for the most part my photography skills suck.
