I've become rather apathetic to Christine's material on this album in recent months. I absolutely despise "Only Over You," and I don't say that about too many Christine McVie songs.

"Gypsy" is a fabulous song, but I must say that my favorite is probably "That's Alright." Stevie's vocal is just divine. (Actually, I love all her vocals on this album). I love the country-feel, and I personally can relate extremely well to the lyrics.

Although many people feel otherwise, I enjoy Lindsey's Mirage contributions, particularly the 50s sounds of "Oh Diane" and "Can't Go Back."

What is it that people dislike so much about this one? It's not exactly my favorite Christine song, but it really seems to be the recipient of a lot of vitriol.

I know some people really hate the vocal melody on that (and oft-repeated) first line: "I'm out of my mind." I don't mind that part so much, although I do think that Christine's vocals on this track are a bit weak in general. But I love the music on this one. Another very successful attempt at the 50s/60s pop vibe, with some nice guitar in there too.

that's my biggest obstacle with this song. honestly, it comes on... "i'm oooout of my mind..." and i can't hit the "next track" button fast enough. i'm not sure i've actually listened to it all the way through since the first few times i listened to tusk.

I have a definite aversion to the opening line: "I'm oout of my mind." Beyond that, I think Christine's vocals are a little screechy on this one. But I agree that the music is nice.

I totally agree with your statement. That was exactly what I was thinking.

The only thing that saves Only Over You is the "angel please don't go/I miss you when you're gone" part. There's something heartbreaking and bittersweet about it. Otherwise, it's a little blah for me. Still nice if I'm in the right mood.

WOW! That BLOWS my mind. Only Over You comes on, and you change the track on a DIFFERENT CD!
That's kooky!

It's a tie: Love in Store and Gypsy. Both have these really thick harmonies that feature the interplay of voices to the band's advantage. And both songs are really warm, genuine songs. If that makes sense.

she doesn't screech on "angel please don't go/I miss you when you're gone"-------------she sings it true & beautiful & plaintive & winsome & lyrical & tender & like a balloon over the napa valle in the early morning, when the rising sun is just starting to burn off the night's mist, hanging low over the vineyards.

This one is the best song on mirage & in my careless opinion the best song ever written for fleetwood mac.

All of Chris' are great (I think)...if they would've just left the aforementioned "Oh Diane" on the cutting room floor and replaced it with "Goodbye Angel", that would've improved the album immensely.

And, maybe retracked the album. (you know, that ol' "running order" thing)
