Default Miami recording sessions during Rumours

I remember reading in Mick's book that they did some recording in a studio there while on tour in 1976, and that GYOW was written there. I take it they didnt spend a whole lot of time there then, and was GYOW the only song that came out of those sessions? I seem to remember an incident that took place in Tampa on July 4 1976 where Stevie left the stage because she was so upset. Maybe that had something to do with GYOW being written. Who knows.

Considering they were playing GYOW in concert as early as November 1975, I seriously doubt that.

The July 4, 1976 Tampa concert, I believe FM opened for The Eagles for a bicentennial concert at Tampa Stadium. I never heard about Stevie leaving the stage, so I don't know what that's all about. Maybe it had something to do with Don Henley or Lindsey getting jealous of him? Just guessing.

I'm fairly sure it was that show. Someone could correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't remember reading that in Mick's book, but the last time I read it was last summer...I could be wrong.

I'd definitely be interested to hear why Stevie walked off the stage. I know...some of you hate hearing about the "drama" and want to focus on the music. I'm not gonna lie...I'm fascinated by both. What would the music be without the drama to inspire it?

I too remember reading about Fleetwood Mac spending a bit of time In Miami recording Rumours, but that was all I ever heard. Interesting that there was not much else written about it.
Actually as I write this, there was another small bit of info. In the Spin magazine issue where Courtney Love interviewed Stevie, she did mention Don Henley, so it was probably during the summer of 76.

Why do you doubt that? Us fans love attaching a pandering soap opera drama theory to explain everything!

The band absolutely kept the song a secret from Stevie, knowing what an emotional wreck she would be if she ever heard it. Of course, Lindsey, still hurt and spiteful from the break up, decides to spring the song on Stevie while performing on stage.

He announces "This new song is I wrote to tell Stevie to **** off." Stevie cries and runs off stage." (CUT)

And every single song Stevie and Lindsey have ever written are precisely about each other. (Never mind that Stevie has magically changed her explanations of various songs numerous times.)

Yes, Fleetwood did some work on Rumours in Miami. It's even listed on the Rumours album, d'uh.

I'd like to know where davemn heard the scenario about stevie leaving the stage at the Miami July 4 '76 show. Did someone here attend that show or read the Miami newspaper review?
