I think The Dance (besides Rumours of course) is F.M.'s best album cover. I think Stevie and Christine look especially smoldering there, and I love all the chaos going on around them with the collapsing furniture and the general "disheveledness" of the entire shot; it's all very swirly and surreal.
I love CM - but she looks odd on the cover of The Dance to me. Like she has been stretched or something.

Oooh me too. They are all excessively photoshopped. We all know they were inspired by the Matisse painting: The Dance, which is nice. But I never was fond of this album cover. Christine and Stevie look the weirdest. I also think they cropped some hips off Stevie as well.

And here we are back to FM's fondness for art. It's such a nice homage to Rousseau. Not sure how you even think it's 80's cheese? Perhaps you just think that since it was released in 1987. It's great and really works with the album title.

Actually, I think the covers of Mirage & Tango In The Night, if switched, would actually be more appropriate with the other title.

ha! I never thought about that, but it's true.

I actually like The Dance cover. I do think they are all edited, but I don't blame them. if I was having a big reunion special and receive that much attention, I'd have been photoshopped so much my mammy wouldn't recognize me.

Because it is

The cover is cheesy, it's all tropical with funny, airbrushed looking colors (which is VERY 80's btw)...it makes me think of Florida, and since it was released in the 80's it then makes me think of Miami Vice! I've never seen the original painting that inspired it, it can't be the same thing, is it? If so, Rousseau sure was a visionary for what would become cheesilicious 1980's looking art!

Preach it.

I cannot fault them for wanting to be touched up after all that time away from the spotlight. I also love Chris's hair extension! I think she looks smokin' hot on that cover and not at all stretched! I love Stevie's pose too. The only thing I might change is to take that golf club out of Lindsey's hand but other than that

foxyluva...who's the girl on the left in your signature? She's hot..

Just to add my opinion.. I think both the TITN and SYW covers are great, I think maybe I've looked at them so many times that I can't imagine them any different..

I know! I was being a bit absurd because of course he's not holding a golf club in this photo, but to the casual onlooker it looks like it, so when I glance at that cover that is what I see! Also, It looks like he's sneaking up on Stevie to give her a good klonk on the head with that golf club too!

I'm kidding too And it really does look like that ... bwahahahha

If you look at that cover in a certain way, sort of blurring your eyes, it looks like Stevie's right arm is Mick's left leg, so he's just sort of standing with one leg parallel to the ground ... or is that just me?

How is The Dance inspired by the Matisse painting?? They look nothing alike...

I think Christine looks strange on the Dance - her head looks really stretched But I like the cover overall.

I think the TITLE of "The Dance" is where they took it from...not necessarily the pose of the band. I think Stevie looks the weirdest on the album cover...in fact, I hate the way she looks. Her face looks awful. Everyone else is acceptible. Although Christine reminds me of Link from the Legend of Zelda.

They wanted to USE the Matisse painting as the cover, but the people who control the Matisse estate wouldn't give the permission to use it.

Anyone see the penguin on The Dance cover? (talk about your "mirages").
