There seems to be something fishy about that (and the whole thing as well). Who will replace him until the election happens, and who gets to decide. The local news stations are also reporting a bunch of BS about having to have a special election. It sounds like a bait-and-switch to me: they'll try to confuse people into voting in the special, thinking they're voting in the general election. The Repugs are desperate to hold onto DeLay's seat.

I didn't actually read through all of the threads before I merged them. Sorry to be the party pooper! Delay is making this out to be some Democratic party witch hunt which is absolutely not the case.
