I don't understand how people sit at all during a Stevie concert!!

Good point! I never use flash for my concert photos. I just think that it is rude for the performers and also as you pointed out it can be dangerous. I would never want anyone to be hurt just so I could get a great photo. Sometimes people don't think, however.

Something like that happened to me at the first SYW LA show. I was in the second row and the people next to me were just talking away on theie cell phone bragging about where their seat was located instead of actually enjoying the show.

The worst camera Nazis that I experienced were at the Office Depot Center in Sunrise, FL. I was told twice to put the camera away. This guy was a real piece of work, too. I think Alex (Greatdarkwing) also had a bad experience but I think that he at least managed to get a few photos. I got none but this was when I was using my point and shoot 35mm so I would have gotten so-so pics anyway.

i had a discussion with stevie and patrick pendergrast (general manager )from am presents in newcastle about security, at the venue it is venue staff, we had problems in melbourne with some camera nazis and one wanna be security woman who pushed a 12 year old girl, but in sydney and newcastle and gold coast and adelade had no issues, ,having patricks business card helped as well,stevie said she likes to see the crowd up dancing at the stage ,in australia they let the front five rows up to the stage for the whole show, except for the melbourne show for some reason, patrick told me he had some complaints from people who had front row seats and people in front of them where standing and dancing,well i think they should not go to a rock concert if there going to complain about that, i dont know if it is any different in the usa , but stevie did not have any security gaurds with her at the hotel

All this kvetching is ridiculous. People act as if they had a legal right to stand & dance & be obstructive. It's the pervasive selfishness of the times: the sense of entitlement, the "me me ME" attitude that infects society. I have no sympathy for their views or for them. Behavior is dictated by the venue. If the people who buy the tickets in the front row don't want to cavort like children, it doesn't automatically become the prerogative of the people behind them to move up in front of them & stand all evening. Nothing like this occurs at any sort of theatrical performance other than rock concerts, which are uncivilized & brutish. All I can say to the civilized people in the front row who want to keep seated is: Avoid rock concerts entirely & go to the opera instead, where no one will cavort like a maniac in front of you all night long.

I don't know about Stevie's security, but I was just at a Billy Joel concert in Philly on Thursday & their security wasn't much. My husband & I went in at a restaurant around back of the Wachovia Center which they call the Cingular Pavilion. The security people were yelling, "Women, have your handbags open & everyone have your ticket ready". Well, they didn't even look in my handbag & they had wands, but didn't even wand us. And you know with the rep that Philly has, you'd think they be a little more security conscience.

You know, what never ceases to amaze me is how these people that get the slightest bit of authority think they can just treat people like crap and be rude.

Now one thing I will say is I'm aware of how the crowd is acting around me. Of course I'm not goint to be the only one in a section standing if everyone else is sitting.

On the first SYW show I went to, I was so mesmorized by Beautiful Child, that about 3/4 of the way through I realized I was the *only* person standing. I kind of had my hands clasped under my chin and was staring adoringly. God, you know Stevie went backstage and was like, "Uh, the girl in the 5th row...security???"

I never had any problems at any FM shows or the Stevie show in Grand Prairie, Texas in regards to taking photos. When Seteca and I went to the Birmingham, England show though...I had my camera in my purse and went through with no problems. Security made Seteca empty his pockets and he took out his camera. They said "You have to leave that. No cameras." WTH?

Now...at The Woodlands show, the guy at the gate made me open my WALLET.

I saw like "Umm..it's just my wallet." and he waved me through. My camera was down in my purse in a little black bag. I got some of my best FM pics that night.

When I went to see Justin Guarini in Beaumont, TX a couple of years ago, there was a camera Nazi. She kept coming over to me and saying "Put the camera away. No pictures." and I kept on taking video and pics. LOL You can hear the dumba$$ on my video too.

I was also with a group of ladies with a full on video camera taking the entire thing. BWAH!!

At Keith Urban shows, you can take all the pictures you want as long as it's not a professional camera and no video is taken. *ahem* I've taken video.

I think a lot of artists realize that stopping people from taking pics is silly and putting rules like no professional cameras is a good thing. One guy brought this gigantic camera and lens to the Keith show in Oklahoma and they made him put it away. I was afraid there would be a scuffle, but there wasn't.
