I think the one you're talking about is the Philadelphia 1977 one...could be 3/21??? Not sure of the exact date...

GDW has always been ok to me until I saw it on the TISL tour. Maybe David or ChiliD could appreciate this. I just thought the musical arrangement was so good. I really liked Brett's keyboards for some reasons. There are a lot of noises in the beginning that sound really spiritual and interpretive. When I was there..i loved that riff...the famous riff to the song..you know the one in the beginning and between each lyric.

That is the only GDW that had ever really struck me. But I do like it in general and I like seeing it live...today.

I will always love the Dance version of GDW, though. It's one of my all-time favorite Stevie performances.

mine too. it holds a special place in my heart. it was the first time I heard/saw Stevie sing...when I watched The Dance - and I was hooked.

That's exactly what's important, Jimmy--what moves YOU.

Personally, I can't distinguish a TISL GDW from an Enchanted GDW from a Gold Dust GDW from a Millennium GDW (although I can spot a Mirror GDW at fifty paces).

However, I can distinguish down to the city & date all the GDWs on tape from 1977 to 1986.

So those are (or were) important to me. But the ones that move YOU the most are the ones that you should LOVE LOVE LOVE, right? let your preferences be your guide through the miasma that is love & light & Fleetwood Music.

Please write back, Jim.

David, your series of smilies reminds me of a standardized test question: which of the following items do not belong in this grouping?

I'd really have to go back & listen to my boots, but offhand, it's the version from The Dance DVD. Awesome atmosphere, awesome rhythm by Mick & John, awesome yell - everything.

Yes thats what its all about. Totally reinvented GDW for me!!! Enchanted was ok. Millenium sucked. GD didn't keep me attentive for some reason. The mirror version is growing on me (birmingham, Holland 1989)--- very good!

David you seriously have to make a lit of the concert tapes you have and send it to me. No one trades anymore...plus ive been dying forever to peek into your collection!

Can someone download this and tell me what performance this version of GDW is from? I can't place it... and it's been bugging me awhile. The only label it came with is what the file is called "jim ladd interview". Where its from I have no idea, but it sounds like an intimate location - maybe it's from the whiskey??
