Now, this I could get behind if it weren't for the fact that Time was near perfection on it's own, especially with Billy and Bekka's contributions, and shouldn't be polluted with anything from SYW, especially the sleep inducing "Goodbye" songs and certainly not "Bleed to Love Her" (It still irritates me that it ended up on SYW to begin with.)

I like how the last three are all basically saying "Goodbye" on some level. As for BTLH, Christine's on it, and that's enough for me.

You're right no Come, no Murrow. To paraphrase someone As soon as I hear them I'm out the door!

I'll have to listen to it right through to see if it works but so far it sounds good

Gail
I like your list, Gail...although I'd replace "Silver Girl" with maybe "Smile At You". I'd still like to put "Forgiveness" somewhere on that CD. Don't worry about those guitar solos. Remember, a certain someone mentioned that there was too much guitar on SYW.

I wish Christine had felt that way back when she did her 1984 album. The artistic problem with that one was that Todd just went on & on with his guitar, & the tracks lost their shape & concision. The solos were all interchangeable, too. You could lift the solo from "I'm the One" & drop it into "One in a Million," or take the "Keeping Secrets" & drop it into "The Challenge," & essentially you'd be left with the same track & the same atmosphere & texture.

The effect was even more pronounced on the tour (as Kristine McKenna -- or was it Connie Johnson -- even noted in her L.A. Times review of the Universal Amp show).

You Are isn't on the comp!! Come on it's one of the highlights of In The Meantime. I know your list isn't for critizing but I really think you should have included it.

I've listened to it and I think I'd replace Red Rover with Miranda.

I wanted to get Forgiveness in but I couldn't make it fit anywhere.

I could be more flexible with Chris' songs as as like nearly all of them. My choice of Stevie and Lindsey songs was limited.

I like "You Are" a lot but I was trying to strike a balance. If I had included it I think I would have had to take of Friend and I couldn't do that.

I wasn't saying no one could discuss/critisize the list. We all have different opinsions and we all have the right to air them.

I was trying to come up with a track list that I could live with and not get bored with. It was mainly for me to listen to in the car.

What I objected to was being told what I can like and that I need to "live a little". Listening to Lindsey wailing on is not "living a little" (IMO)
