I say, when it comes to guitardiscussions, Lindsey's arrogance does not come near to yours.
So f***ing what? Live with it!! Fleetwood Mac has had to live with Lindsey for all this time, this place just will have to live with mine. I apologize for nothing.

I don't ask for apologies, I'll never do that. I ask you to take me serious in a discussion about music for gods sake.... and lindsey was gone for 10 years remember?

I take you serious when we're talking music ...its the finer points of guitar playing that I run rings around you logically.

Just because Lindsey wasn't IN the band, Fleetwood Mac still had to deal with him...his constant criticism of them in the media. I mean, jeez, Mick kept inviting him to their shows, their recording sessions (he appears on both BTM & Time, remember), etc. It's not like he was "out of sight, out of mind".

Let's see, Lindsey publicly disparages the then current lineup of Fleetwood Mac, but it was Fleetwood Mac themselves actually being a working, thriving band that was "dragging the name to the ground"??? ...what a pompous asshole.

Chime in, Justin...please
not to mention his his swipes at stevie, christine, mick and john's musicianship

There are undoubtedly plenty of untrained musicians out there who play with even less feeling & individual style than I do!

To me... it's like being born knowing how to speak english but never really knowing how the letters and words are formed.

Learning theory just lets you know what you're doing, what you're hearing, how loud or soft you are hearing it etc etc...

This should only assist you in mastering your craft.... I can't understand how it would limit you....

Wow, will ya look at all this activity in the Lindsey forum - I'M PROUD!

So after reading all these posts, maybe THIS is an unpopular opinion: Despite his wee little faults, I think Lindsey is one of the most talented, challenging and interesting musicians of our time - or any for that matter. And damn sexy too boot. What more can you ask for? Oh wait, riiiiiight, another solo album.

I think he was a clever, accomplished, individual voice in the AOR/MOR wilderness who was both inclined & able to infuse his personality & its idiosyncracies into the band's studio work & live performances for about ten years. He fashioned a personal style out of sometimes meager raw materials. (Essentially, he was the Val Lewton of 1970s pop.) He also had a very good engineer's ear & a notable sense of instrumental & vocal ideation.

But the days go by like a strand in the wind. . . . And now he is no more.
