As far as Christine's songs go, in my opinion, only she should sing them. Don't Stop worked on the last tour because it was sung originally by her and Lindsey but a full blown Christine song would sound wrong sung by Lindsey or Stevie. Just my two cents.

On a final note, let's pray that Lindsey doesn't offer any fashion "advice" to Ms. Nicks. That button up sweater still haunts me

Don't think there were many "leftovers". There is too much at stake for them to throw us a few leftover crumbs. There is not enough time in this years schedule for them to possibly have time to record a new one...WHICH SUCKS!

A businessperson who has any concept of what the music industry is like today would in no way be disappointed with numbers like that from veteran artists like Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac (and in fact, the numbers for both are significantly higher). Nor would said businessperson be stupid enough to compare those numbers to numbers from the 70s or 80s.

My honest opinion is that they'd be comparing the numbers to other stars they have under contract - like Madonna and James Blunt. I'm not talking about what the specific numbers might show them, I'm talking about what the huge crash in the numbers - which obviously isn't going to reverse - might show them in view of the fact that they're approaching 60.
Believe it or not Stevie understands this very clearly and spelled it out in a little "video confessional" type of thing in the "Destiny Rules" documentary.
Anyway I'm not saying that WB is about to drop them like a red-hot-brick -
actually, I don't think they have a contract at ALL right now - I'm just saying, WB's motivation is going to be decreasing more and more over time and the band is gonna have to adapt if they wanna survive. They've survived this long and I'm sure they'll keep going if they wanna - but yeah - they can no longer afford to be "idiots" in today's world; they're gonna have to adapt to the current climate one way or another.
It's either that or tour until they're blue and throw the loot on the pile
But that's the thing - I have the impression that compared to how much effort an album takes - and the stress that goes along with all their little "differences in perspective" - touring may seem much more attractive to them at this point.

I think the record companies judge you by how well you done the last time you released an album or toured, Maybe they would be better off setting up there own label, i am sure that when it comes time for them to look for a contract there are a few other companies who would be willing to sign them to there books cause when they tour like they did for SYW they make a fortune and have no problem filling arena,s all over the world.

Okay. But this is simply wrong. Record companies don't compare every artist on their rosters to their top-selling stars. It would just be foolish to do so. Warner never had any reason to expect that Say You Will would move Madonna-level numbers, and they didn't.

Again, Warner is not stupid enough to compare Fleetwood Mac's 2003 sales figures to their 1977 or even 1987 sales figures. To do so would be unfair and unrealistic, and they're smarter businesspeople than that.

Whether they're at all interested in a future album from Stevie or Fleetwood Mac is another issue entirely. But they have little reason to be disappointed in the sales figures for either TISL or SYW.

First off, congrats on your meeting with Stevie! You got fact time which is more than most.

Senility has finally set in with this group! SIX Chris songs? Stevie and Lindsey both have a huge library to pick from and they choose songs Stevie can't pull off on her own. Lindsey could do TAM justice but Stevie on Songbird? Please no. That's why Chris and Stevie's songs were so distinguishable. They were like night and day. My guess? Their tour wasn't as hot as they would have liked and they chalk that up to losing Chris fans. This is their way of reeling them back in, or so they think. Good try guys, but no cigar. They also need a new album. Don't want to be thought of as *tour whores* like some other bands which will remain nameless. Yep, it's all about the money. Confirmed.

However, record companies don't make any money off concerts, although a successful concert tour by an older act like Fleetwood Mac is often good news for a record company that wants to push catalogue releases. Anyway, there are a multitude of factors that go into a record company's expectations of how any new album is going to sell. There's no shortage of things to take into account, plenty of which might not even have anything to do with the artist directly.

But yeah, I'm sure there are plenty of labels who would be happy to add Fleetwood Mac to their roster. They're not, however, going to lavish the band with the extravagant advances and recording budgets they're used to. So the question is really more, would Fleetwood Mac be willing to sign up with a label that isn't going to indulge their every financial whim?
