Default Question on Rhiannon (a video clip I saw..)

I was watching VH1 Classic yesterday and suddenly Rhiannon was on
Unfortunately I didn't understand exactly which concert or gig that clip was taken from, and I was hoping perhaps you could help me, since you are all more familiar with old FM footage than I am.
I assumed it was filmed during the Rumours era (or perhaps a bit earlier), because Stevie was wearing a black dress, very similar to the one from the Rumours album cover. Lindsey still had a beard and longer hair and John was wearing something like a jogging outfit (I am not kidding, it was shorts and sneakers).
The song version was different than the original album version, it sounded more like the newer ones ( I mean the "dreams unwind etc " and the "all the same" parts were added- almost identical to the live in Boston version).
Anyway, it was AWESOME! And Stevie & Lindsey looked very very good ! (very hot, I should say. And Stevie seemed a little high )
Anyway, has anyone seen this or know what it is exactly? I am not sure it was a concert, I didn't see any audience, but it didn't look like a studio either.

VH1 Classic always uses the Rosebud documentary version as the "music video" for Rhiannon...so I am pretty sure that is what you saw. It was near the end of the White Album era right when they were in the beginning stages of making Rumours...

The live versions of Rhiannon from the late 70's and early 80's cannot be beat...they are simply the best! When I watch and listen to them, and then watch something like Rhiannon from LIB...there is just NO comparison.

Thanx! I am sure that is what it was.
I have to admit that it is the first time I saw a video with a so young Stevie&Lindsey and I was stunned. She -in particular- was amazing.

Yes...one of my favorite periods for Stevie and the entire band in general! LOVE me some White album era!

I like the version of LIB, that's pure hardrock

Oh I like it too. It is just that listening to a 70's live version, I got the feeling that that was the way this song was meant to be performed. It was genuinely strong and intense, very "Janis Joplin"-like (maybe I am wrong, but that was my impression).
BTW, I like the original studio version as well, even though it sounds like a completely different song .

Me, too - it has a more sensual, subtle late night vibe, and you can't beat that bassline for setting the mood. The guitar is spare but perfectly placed and distinctive without being overpowering. The harmonies are smooth yet insistent. Stevie's voice quality and dynamics are such that she seems to drift in and out of the song (like a ghost through the fog? )
Truth be told, I like all the Rhiannon incarnations almost equally for different aspects, and I'm very grateful for that, because I'm never disappointed.

Elle, just one thing, if you should see this Rhiannon on VH1 Classic again and look at the song info before or after the song, DON'T get confused. VH1 has mistakenly labelled it as from the Mirage Concert of 1982. It IS the Rosebud documentary one from 1976 because, like Brwn_eyes0511 said, that's the one they always play. I just wish I could find the moron at VH1 who thought this was from 1982!
