Has anyone attempted to grow their hair into a Stevie 'do? I saw so many women at the concerts this summer with hair that would make you think it's Stevie from behind, and I was so envious!

I really don't know how Stevie manages to tame her hair. I don't think she has a lot of help because sometimes it looks dried out like she overdid it with the blowdrying.

Anyway, I guess what I'm asking is, what would you do? I will probably regret cutting it afterwards, but it's driving me nuts. I'm a total Stevie-wannabe, lol.
This may sound a bit dumb, but I didn't quite understand which Stevie-hair you 're referring to? The young Rumours era Hair or today's style. I personally like the hairdo she has in some old pictures from the Rumours/Tusk era. I would like to do that but my hair, even though it is very long and sort of dark blond, it's very straight and I don't think I can make it look like that.

Not all women have the same volume of hair. All of the pics/videos of Stevie's hair is an illusion to what it really looks like face to face. Throw in the fact that shes tiny 5'1 and shes has used some wigs and extensions over the years.

I have very curly/wavy hair, and didn't know it until I was about 16. I kept brushing it out, and couldnt' figure out why it was so frizzy. So, once I figured it out, I let it grow out, to weigh the curl out. Didn't work. So, now I've long full curly hair that I can't do much with, but I love it. All I can say to you is keep on letting it grow out. I use Garnier Fructis Long and Strong shampoo. I can't say that it makes my hair grow any faster, but it is stronger, and I think that helps to keep it long.

Sorry, I should've been clearer - I mean the Stevie hair we saw this summer. Long and straight.

I also remember Stevie wearing extensions, but her hair is still naturally pretty long, isn't it?

BTW, that bunny is making me want to sneeze!

Thanks. I have 2 nieces, so that's why I find them for emails. Little girls like fluffy, cute little things. (And no comments from the peanut gallery on that one..... )

It's not purposeful, but my hair is very similar to Stevie's. It's 3/4 of the way down my back (I'm 5'2) and I can wear it curly (on bad days it's far too much like the cover of SYW for my taste ) or straight.

My only advice is to be patient and be sure to take good, good care of it. About 3 years ago, my hair was just brushing my shoulders. I trim it regularly and it's very long now. Just be sure to keep trimming even though you're going for length... Oh - and to straighten, I don't recommend using an iron regularly. I just use "friss-ease," "bumble and bumble straight," a blowdryer, and a round brush. Voila!

Good luck! :-)

My God, that's a _bunny_?! *checks* It _is_ a bunny!!

Anyway, I'm kinda letting my hair grow at the moment... I think a lot of that is down to not being bothered to go to the hairdressers! I don't get split ends or anything, so it just keeps growing very slowly by itself... A friend of mine says it looks quite Rumours Stevieish at the moment, except a bit shorter, but then again, my various friends can't even decide what colour it is, so I don't trust any of them anymore...

I've been trying to get the Rumours do for so many years I have it down to a science! Well, I know what I want, and am good at styling it (it all goes forward, which is how my hair grows anyway), but it is really hard to get someone to do that cut/understand what I mean! I try to collect pictures showing good examples, but they still don't seem to quite get it (or maybe don't want to!) So lately I have sort of given up and it hasn't been cut in so long that most all the layers have grown out and I now almost have the current Stevie-do. I've just lately been debating on whether to try it again, so this thread is interesting! Has anyone else tried to explain the Rumours style to a hairstylist??

I think if you just ask for a long shag with the bangs, with the top layer almost reaching your shoulders when wet, it'll probably get the point across. I get my hair cut that way.

Image hosting by PhotobucketYou may already be doing this, but my favorite hairdresser (and he knows because he has a Queer Eye for the Straight Guy/Girl!Image hosting by Photobucket) tells me and everyone one of his clients with longer hair that we must get our dead ends cut at least once a month to every 6 weeks to keep front having tangles and bushy/fluffy hair from brushing too much to get them out.

Image hosting by PhotobucketI have very straight hair, and his advice was to use a pick (I prefer plastic, not the ones that African-Americans use...metal would hurt! OUCHY!) Unfortunately, I don't have the Image hosting by Photobucketpatience to ever look as good as Lady Nicks...but good luck to all you Wild Hearts!!Image hosting by Photobucket

Image hosting by PhotobucketShe does has the best hair in showbiz IMHO! Image hosting by PhotobucketBe it blond or brunette! I'd love to see what color it really is...Image hosting by Photobucket

I love how it flows, even though it stays in one place...like in this shot!

Nicks natural color is so-called "dish-water" blond (does anyone still use that term?). Watch the 1976 Rosebud video and you'll see. She has been dieing her hair since 1979.
