Funny though, the original question asked what "gets you in the mood" as opposed to the common answers people gave of songs they had sex to. So which is it? There is certainly a difference.

For me brazilian music gets me going, most latin music, tango, bossa nova, samba, salsa. All that music will get me feeling real hot and ready for some action. Other honorable mentions: UB40, Prince, Crash Test Dummies, Beastie Boys and Moby.

During sex, some of the above latin will work, but I do like B-Tribe, Grant Lee Phillips, Bebel Gilberto and Sade.

Deb doesnt like the brutal **** I love...(I must be getting nostalgic in my ol' age, Instead of mellowing with age I have been on a brutal metal binge musically-The more I listen the heavier the music is getting!!!! Break yer f**kin' neck stuff too!!!! )...Because otherwise she wouldnt be able to walk if we "did the deed" to the likes of Nevermore or Arch Enemy.

I didn't in my original post - but I can't stop listening to deSol's CD in the car lately - especially the song "Karma." And the show I went to on Dec. 10th - double bill of them and Del Castillo - resurrected my interest in the latin beat. Sade has been mentioned a few times already and I agree that for the slow burn kinda romantic thing, Sade's music is the best for that. I also pick Madonna's "Bedtime Stories" CD. Very sexy record.
