Default Old Billboard Clippings

I want to post some old Billboard clippings. They're all dated at the bottom.

Listen To The Wind Blow? You Can Go Your Own Way?

Ah well, Rumours was such a rare album I can see why they'd have a hard time with that.

Forget the album name... Who the frig is Fleetwood Mac? Sounds like a failed McDonalds project.

Thanks David... Interesting Read. Man tickets were cheap back then and they thought that was expensive!

If you click on them, they should enlarge (they do for me, anyway.)

Thanks David.

Highlights for me:

Phili 8/78 - Stevie having voice troubles
St. Louis 7/90 - Stevie was distant & Mick's drum solo too long
MSG 12/79 - Not That Funny turned the audience off

Some things never change, I guess.

That's what I'm talking about! NTF, to me, is about as ANTI-FM, as a song can get.

I guess you don't like hearing the Mac -- including your beloved keyboardist -- jam?

First they spell Lindsey's name correctly, only to mess it up again later in the 'article'.

Thanks, David, interesting reads.

You truly think of that repetitive noise as a jam? OK.

Oh it's definitely a jam, Paula, & it's an amazing jam, particularly when they bring it down & alternately cruise & creep along on the rock-solid rhythm. If you love the way Mick plays drums, John bass, Lindsey guitar & Christine keyboards, you're in jam heaven during the extended "Not That Funny" & "World Turning" (circa 1980), that incarnation's two greatest, most off-the-wall jams of all time. In "Not That Funny" especially, you're hearing Lindsey, Mick, John & Christine at their most unfettered, most spontaneous, most in-the-pocket best. During some of those Tusk shows, it's the NTF jam when those four people are paying the most attention to one another & to the texture & direction of the riffs. I refer you to the NTF of 9.01.80, recently uploaded to the bit torrent thing -- did you happen to catch that? It most perfectly encompasses the spirit of the album, I think: the musicians go from elephants whomping through the underbrush to little mice scurrying about in the growth.

Ah David, putting words in my mouth! I didn't say I didn't care for it. I said it was very UN-FM like. Most friends never cared for it, though. As I've said before, I only watch it when I'm alone. I skip it if someone's here.

Egads, all that screaming......egads! Taste briefly stepped out the door.
