By the way, I've just learned that an "average" Bar Mitzvah costs about $40,000 - this is a REALLY big deal - so it's not "out of line" for someone this wealthy, who earns his living by keeping our soldiers safe (he makes bullet-proof vests), to spend this much on it. Just like Stevie, he works hard for his money.

As I said in an earlier thread about this, it really doesn't bother me on the artist side of it (and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Don Henley's entire fee went to one of his charity foundations). The dad who held the party is the one who makes me sick. Ghost Tracker, do some research on this guy and the bullet proof vests he provides for the military. Then come back and tell us if you think he's such a nice guy.

Interestingly, the vests have not failed in the field and the numbers recalled are mostly slight in comparison to the overall number out there - to wit:

WESTBURY - The Army and Marine Corps have recalled about 18,000 bullet-resistant vests produced by DHB Industries' Point Blank Body Armor Inc. subsidiary, according to wire reports.

Reuters said that the Army and Marine Corps announced the recall on Thursday. The Army recalled 8,083 vests out of a total of 873,000 it has used in the field. The Marine Corp recalled 10,342 out of about 191,000 being used.

DHB did not return two calls to its offices seeking comment about this recall. The Marines already recalled 5,000 vests made by Point Blank in May, Reuters said.

The wire service indicated that the military said vests were being recalled because they fell short of specifications set for the equipment.

But Reuters said the military said the vests were not believed to have put soldiers in danger, since its own threshold for strength is higher than they are expected to require in the field.

DHB Industries on Tuesday said it had received a new order for $30.1 million from the U.S. Army for additional vests. Shares of DHB slipped 7 percent in midday trading to $3.63 on the news of the recall.

Well, we know Stevie did GDW, and that she was using a teleprompter. You'd think that with all that money, whoever decorated the place could have put a decent looking skirt on the front of the stage. Notice the people watching Stevie and Don ? Not a soul under 40. All the girls were too busy having their pictures taken in their cute outfits. I lost count of the implants and nosejobs. What a 7 alarm trainwreck. All of my suspicions are confirmed. God Bless America.
