I was not being snarky. I was just pointing out that other tax dollars than the ones you referenced with "His company did get to keep that $30 million even after the recall" could have gone toward this.

Also, it helps people not misinterpret things if they base their opinions on what another person actually said rather than what they think the person meant.

fyi: I didnt add anything. my original post said I could see why Jason interpreted it the way he did. I used Eliud's exact words so if anybody is "adding" anything here, its NOT ME

he DID say "more rich assholes." What I did was parse his sentence to show how it COULD be interpreted the way Jason and I did. "more" only means an increase in the original number. Since there were no other qualifiers (such as "some") it is possible to infer that he believed the entire body of rich people to be assholes.

btw: he later clarified his meaning and thats fine. Again, my original post was regarding Jason's take on Eliud's original statement and I just wanted to say I agreed with Jason at that time.

With all of this arguing over qualifiers & parsed sentences & nouns & implied meanings & making **** up, this bat mitzvah is beginning to look less ridiculous in comparison.

I think his original post said "another rich asshole" and it now reads "more rich assholes" - but I could be mistaken. I say this because I referenced "another" in one of my posts.

even if that's true, its a minor differentiation because both indicate an increase to the original number. Whether he meant "some" or "all" was not clarified until later.

Well, I disagree that it properly COULD be interpreted how you said, and still be a correct way to do so, but obviously it was, and so I will look to other sources for my academic logic knowledge, and leave you nice people be. Sides, diss has much more important things to discuss. I probably do, too, come to think of it.
