When people constantly talk about their lack of babies .... it's because they're sad they've never had their own. Sheryl Crow's favorite mistake may have been a man, but Stevie's favorite is her lack of a child. She's in her late 50s and is finally feeling extra-much-more-maternal (though I think she's always been incredibly maternal) as she more than likely sees her career slowly getting put on the shelf (by her, IMO). You can't blame her for having such feelings but I'm sure one day she'll have someone to call her "mom" -- it's certainly become more than a little obvious that she wants that in her life -- especially as of late.

These photographs are absolutely beautiful. I hope someone will be able to scan and upload a high res photo

Or it's because journalists constantly ask them about their lack of babies.

The photos look stunning. I love the portrait shot with the white top hat... but then I always prefer photos where Stevie's face is the focal-point.

Really? I was thinking the dress was the best part... it's not black!

That dress in the first picture is fab. And I love the white hat on her.

You are not a human being if you don't want/have children.

Stunning pics...and WHY can she not dress like that on stage?!

Or it's because Stevie constantly wants to discuss how much she self-sacrificed to become a rock and roll star.

Bingo. You are too cool for school, babe. Let's not blame it on the journalists, Stevie isn't required to answer their questions. It's entirely possible that she's the one who brings the topic up during these interviews.

Let us not forget that in PR and the media in general, journalists are given topics to discuss with the celebrity they are interviewing so even if the questions are being asked, they're being asked because that's what she doesn't mind discussing. There are things off limits and then there are things that are not. I have a feeling Stevie's list of things that can be discussed includes the following things -- Fleetwood Mac, her solo career, drug abuse, her relationship with Lindsey, and what she's given up to be the Queen of Rock and Roll. Hence the same redundant and regurgitated interviews over and over again.

We'll probably get yet another version of the New Zealand kicking/guitar throwing/mocking incident.

It depends, journalists don't tolerate now too strict "no discuss" rules, usually it depends by the magazine/newspaper power how far you can go. Tom Cruise knows it very well: in Germany a tv journalist broke the embargo and started asking very tough questions on Scientology and Steven Spielberg had to limit his star' s outburst. Then since they made for War of the worlds a very restricted press junket (only friendly guys admitted) most of international newspapers "burnt" (do you say in the same way?) the news about the movie publishing the report one month ahead the release. And it certainly didn't help the movie.

By the way, back to Stevie. I love the photos, especially the first two, the one with the white top hat is really nice. About the interview I think it's normal for a reporter who writes on a women magazine to ask "why haven't you become a mother?". It's not Stevie's fans the major magazine's target, but its usual readers, don't you think?
