Me either. I am pretty sure that Don said it though.

Sorry! I hate it when that happens. Spelled it Rotters.mp3 when the file is named rotters.mp3...

Try again now, it worked for me.

Wasted Time is defiantly about Stevie. Remember, the songs written for Hotel California were written in/around 1976.

Wasted Time

Well baby, there you stand
With your little head, down in your hand
Oh, my god, you can’t believe it’s happening
Again
Your baby’s gone, and you’re all alone
And it looks like the end.

And you’re back out on the street.
And you’re tryin’ to remember.
How will you start it over?
You don’t know what became.
You don’t care much for a stranger’s touch,
But you can’t hold your man.

You never thought you’d be alone this far
Down the line
And I know what’s been on your mind
You’re afraid it’s all been wasted time

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
About the first time that you fell
You didn’t love the boy too much, no, no
You just loved the boy to well, farewell
So you live from day to day, and you dream
About tomorrow, oh.
And the hours go by like minutes
And the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something to
Make them go away
And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wondrin’ what
I left behind and from worrying ’bout this wasted time

Ooh, another love has come and gone
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me before you went out on your own:
’sometimes to keep it together, we got to leave it alone.’
So you can get on with your search, baby, and I can
Get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find , that it wasn’t really
Wasted time
Mm,hm
Oh hoo, ooh, ohh,
Ooh,ooh, mm

Victim of Love - The Eagles

What kind of love have you got?
You should be home, but you’re not
A room full of noise and dangerous boys
Still makes you thirsty and hot
I heard about you and that man
There’s just one thing I don’t understand
You say he’s a liar and he put out
Your fire
How come you still got his gun in your hand?
Victim of love , I see a broken heart
You got your stories to tell
Victim of love, it’s such an easy part
And you know how to play it so well

Some people never come clean
I think you know what I mean
You’re walkin’ the wire, pain and desire
Looking for love in between

Tell me your secrets, I’ll tell you mine
This ain’t no time to be cool
And tell all your girlfriends,
You ’been around the world’ friends
That talk is for losers and fools

Victim of love, I see a broken heart
I could be wrong, but I’m no
Victim of love, we’re not so far apart
Show me, what kind of love have you got?

Victim of love, you’re just a victim of love
I could be wrong , but I’m not
Victim of love, now you’re a victim of love
What kind of love have you got?
What kind of love have you got?
What kind of love have you got?

I always found it very " telling " that Stevie showed up for Don Henleys " Storytellers"...because she knew she was the inspiration for some early songs.
IMO.

I kinda thought she showed up for Henley's Storytellers because Stevie's, Sheryl Crows and Dons were filmed all the same week and they all went to each others. Don might have wrote about Stevie but not very often, IMHO. Frankly, I just do not think she was all that important to him..

No it isn't. "Wasted Time" was written about Don's relationship with ... damn what is her name???

Anyway, Don was in a live-in relationship with a chick that didn't work out and it was a big deal. "Wasted Time" was all about that- from The Eagles biography To the Limit : The Untold Story of the Eagles.

I met Don a few years ago and asked him if Hotel California was written about (or at least the idea of it) a hotel in Needles, Ca. called Hotel California. He told me that Hotel California was a fictional name that the band came up with.

The lyrics are actually pretty good, but I think the band's sound is just god-awful. Like the Counting Crows trying to be Springsteen. And the Counting Crows themselves are bad enough when they try to be Springsteen.
