That's great news! Jigging here about it. I'm a huge fan of Norman Lear TV shows. Hilarious stuff...funny growing up and watching Good Times and being able to relate really, really well to this struggling black family. I had no idea why until years later I found out the show (at least the first 3 seasons) were written by 2 white, Jewish guys. Then it made sense why I was glued to the show and humor.

I like Florida Evans as maude's maid, but really liked Mrs. Naugutuck.

LOL. That is a hilarious way of describing the creative force behind Good Times.

Good Times is my particular favorite, though, those first few season were genius. I didn't care for it after it became The JJ Show and John Amos left, but up until then it was really fantastic. I just love how Florida wore orange in every episode. That has always cracked me up. Esther Rolle and John Amos are amongst the greatest TV couples of all time.

I don't ...Hell every show I used to like as a kid (Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, What's Happening?, etc) I now totally dispise.

enjoy those shows, but for unknown reason they grate my nerves to no ends now (Matter-of-fact, Alot of stuff I like is starting to grate my nerves)...The only exceptions are the Munsters, the Addams Family, Bewitched & Sanford and Son (Even then my attention span can barely handle 30 minutes of those shows)

Let's just say I rarely (If ever) watch TV Land.

Good Times is also my favorite. I agree with all you said...especially the greatest TV couple of all time. I learned alot from those two. I hated it when John Amos left the show. It killed it.

I reached out and touched it and touched his hand, and I swear to God at that second someone walked around the building and yelled our names. I don't remember who it was. But I do remember feeling like I was caught. We both pulled back our hands and stepped away from each other and everything changed. What happened next ? I have no idea. Don't know. Can't recall. I just know something broke that second. And that I sat against the wall alone until it was very late and very dark and then I walked home by myself.

Damn. Hadn't thought of that in a long time. I forgot all about that day.
And I probably better stop thinking about it.

I just I careered through the last 3 pages of this thread; when you scan it, reading words and phrases here and there, it starts to sound like the party scene in Breakfast at Tiffanys. I heard all these little conversations overlapping, creating a din of chatter (all pretty fun) and then I stopped at your post, and a read a real, tender story. Beautiful!
