No, the operating system for your computer. Mine, for example, is Windows XP.

iTunes is only compatible with certain operating systems. For example, my old computer had Windows Millennium Edition, and iTunes wouldn't work on it.

Hmm. What happens when you try to download iTunes that your computer won't let you?

may have parental controls
preventing downloads?

Then you've got some kind of firewall in place, though it's odd that it would be set up be so strong that you couldn't download something to completely safe and corporate-sponsored as iTunes.
