Haha I did that too! I yelled "TUGGLE!" and got his attention. He's so cool.

As long as it takes Lindsey to work on something and "perfect" it and with Stevie performing in Australia I just can't imagine the SYW band getting another record ready for release by 2007. Anything is possible, I guess. I can't see FM letting their anniversary go by in 2007 without something being released or some kind of tour. But with so little being said by the band members themselves it's really too early for me to speculate just exactly what all they're going to do.

And I may definitely be in the minority here but I'd much rather prefer Fleetwood Mac not work on a new studio album (unless it is the original band members). I'd much rather see solo records and shows by Lindsey and Stevie over a new Fleetwood Mac record right now.
I agree, lets see a Rumours anniversary tour, with or without Chris, although of course I prefer with!

One of my friends then told me the news that another mutual friend has an uncle who has recently been hired as Fleetwood Mac's 'new' keyboardist.

I spoke with that friend this morning who confirmed what I was told. He said that his uncle has been in the studio with the band and will be touring with them.

I was told that he is also the resident keyboardist for Jefferson Starship, so kudos to whoever can find out who that is. According to a quick Google search, I found the name Chris Smith, who joined Starship in 1997, but I do not know if this is him. (I didn't get the name)

So yeah, big news! I'm hoping it's true. I wouldn't be making it up, even if I'm so jealous the position has been filled.
Thanks for the info Alex. Is the tour scheduled for 2006?
I will PM you when I get back home to RI. I am in NH with Kim and right now I am on a hotel PC.

Minority or no, I'm with you on this one. It's far and away the situation that would get us the most bang for our buck, and sooner rather than later. Solo projects from both Lindsey and Stevie, plus a new record recorded by the "original" Fleetwood Mac sounds like heaven to me.

Why would the Mac be hiring a new keyboardist for a tour in 2007, now? I think we will see them out this summer..2006..irregardless of what Mick has said about the original Mac getting together and all that. (or what Stevie's PR people told a fan in NYC) They could tour both summers, 06 and 07, like they did for SYW ..and play up the anniversary in 07. Sadly, I do not think we will get a new album.
I doubt we will hear much about the Mac's plans until Stevie's gigs in Aussie are over. They do not want people who might fly over to Aussie to see her to stay home because they hear the Mac might have plans for this coming summer.
I wonder why Brett was replaced? Or if he will be in Aussie with La Nicks?

They wouldn't even be hiring a keyboardist for a tour in summer 2006 at this point. Tour rehearsals only go for about six or eight weeks.

It's extremely difficult to believe Lindsey & Mick wouldn't bring Brett back aboard. He would have to have killed someone's puppy.

Esp. since he also is the guitar player, back up vocalist, and keyboard (all types) player for La Nicks solo and he LB during Soundstage. That makes no sense to me. But, maybe he resigned because he did not want to tour so much. All in all, Brett is a great guy and I am the better for having met him.

Well if this supposed hiring has any relevance at all, possibly it could be because Carlos or Neale cannot commit, so therefore they might have Brett do guitars, and hire someone else for keyboards?

I don't think it would be a surprise if they tossed Brett for whatever reason. The guy's awesome, but if you look back at the Today Show performance, a different guy was playing Keys than him. And I know its the same tour group since Waddy, Carlos, and Taku were there.
