Yeah. And people here generally have a really wide pallet (sp?), because there is so much variety, because we have so many ethnicities. I honestly think this is probably the actual best place to get Sushi in America.
Anyway, my point is, I like to try new foods. And usually they're good!

Unagi is good...but Ugami (sea urchin) is the sickest crap I ever had. It tastes like you grabbed a handful of ocean silt and shoved it your mouth. So gross and super hardcore sushi. I couldn't eat sushi for 3 years after trying the Ugami. I love sushi, but stay far, far away from Ugami (sea urchin).

In SF, Nori Sushi had the best stuff ever. I miss that little tiny place off Market/Octavia.

Lucky you. I was up almost all night last night. And the night sucked the life right outta me. Or something. I need to rest.

Me no like that one. Blech. I actually don't get any of the raw fish ones, either. I've tried many of them. It's not because of the taste of the raw fish, it's the texture. Like biting into an eraser. But I can stuff down a few pieces if I really try. Since I live in Oakland, I go to...anywhere...there's like, four sushi places within about 10 blocks of my house.

I think it's right under brown envelopes and skunk cabbage on my list.

Hey, I tried calamari for the first time while I was in SF this summer! Good ****! But, don't ever buy it in Indiana. YUCK!

Unless I'm mistaken, Tempura shrimp is the crunchy shrimp, right? It's deep fried. I can't think of anything else that would make shrimp crunchy.
What's MM roll?

you may be right. I always thought crunchy shrimp was "crunchy" because of the roe.

an MM roll is crab, asparagus, mayo and something else I'm forgetting wrapped in a tortilla-like roll
