What it wrong with me?

I am deeply disturbed that I like the following songs:

Ashlee Simpson: "Boyfriend" (Just damn catchy)

Faith Hill: "Like We Never Loved At All" (or whatever it's called - it's the sweet retro video that sucked me in.)

Kanye West: "Gold Digger" (I have no explanation for this. None.)

I do NOT usually like fluffy little Top 40 pop tunes. As penance, I am going to play nothing but Mac for the next 24 hours. Forgive me Stevie, for I have sinned.

I get that way too, sometimes. I don't know those particular songs, but don't feel bad- it happens to all of us.

Aw, don't worry about it, although I do see your cause for conern. If it makes you feel any better, I have "Milkshake" on my ipod. And I NEVER skip it.

Don't feel bad Paula - I can't get enough of Gold Digger either. And I really don't like Kanye for many reasons. Just something about the groove, and even the lyrics.

Only heard the radio version though - is there a certain word missing from the chorus? (During the "broke, broke" part?) It just seems that way to me.

Haven't heard the other 2 though, so you're on your own there.

Yupe. On the cd it goes broke... and then the "N" word.. ending with az. That's the only difference. Excellent tune, I love it too. Two others tunes on the cd are excellent to, one called "Mama" and one called Heard Em Say (feat adam levine of maroon 5).

My sympathies. I am currently addicted to Madonna's new song, and still have this thing for Kelly Clarkson's music that I just can't explain.

OK I guess that I'll admit that I got hooked on that Golddigger song, too. The first time that I heard it I was like OK this is a stupid song and later in the day guess what song was stuck in my head?

I believe that it is a either a sample of Ray Charles OR Jamie Foxx doing a RC tribute. I don't know.
Does anyone have the lyrics that they can post?

I do. It's a pretty wonderful song, and Kanye's a studio genius (as is John Brion). "Fluffy Top 40" is not the first adjective that I would think of to describe it.

I know you can figure this one out, dear. The title of the song is "Gold Digger." Now let's check for context clues:

"Now I ain't sayin' she a gold digger
But she ain't messin' wit' no broke _____"

"Trigger" doesn't really make much sense. Nor does "snigger." "Chigger?" Could work, but nothing else in the lyrics implies that she's into entymology...
