Default Round 2-The Singer Not the Song

I like Lindsey's unfinished stuff, too. Wish I could've heard "Given Thing."

Oh well.

I love thatq you use the word "rushes" -- many here use the word "dailies" - which I think is silly. Anyway - back to the regularly scheduled programming.

Talking Welcome!

Welcome to the Ledge, RedRover86! My 2nd favorite song, after I'm So Afraid. Great choice.

Yes, I'm a bit confused by this as well. On my disc of "Demos From the Village Recorder" there are two versions of "Given Thing." I believe the first one is the mumbling version.

The second version I have...I still can't make out the words very well.....but he sings a "ba ba whoa whoa" or something like that. It's much better than the first version.

So I guess it would have helped if we knew which version we were actually voting for.

After listening to the two versions I have....from what I can tell, the lyrics appear to be totally different. From the mumbling version, which I believe is the version that people are talking about here, I can only make out this one lyric
" It's happening to me, its something (?), it's a given thing.
Take your time, left behind, sing a little song down the line."

Now on the second version I have, which is easier to understand...I got these lyrics
"Sending out, sending out an offer
Take it (?), Take (?) if you want to
???? an offer
ba ba whoa whoa, Its a given thing" (repeat)

Sorry, that's all I could decipher. Maybe someone else can do better.

That makes me no better then you "peasants". I'm from the "backcorner" of my country so you could consider ME a peasant.
I just said: Everybody who voted off my fave in round one:

SCREW YOU!

So your apologies: sorry dear: not accepted.
It was sincere, but you don't have to accept it. I was preparing for the whining I knew you would engage in as soon as it got voted off.

Got your blood pumping, though, didn't it.

I understand the objection to including such raw demos and judging them as finished work. I included Given Thing in an effort to be comprehensive, though, and because I knew some folks like it and would want it in here.

You may find the thread pointless and flawed. I argue it's not more pointless and flawed than some threads you have contributed to. At any rate, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

BTW some of these songs were done at Soundstage or released on the soundtrack for Wild California. Some were scheduled to be on the Fleetwood Mac album when it was a double, as documented by more than one magazine. They are obviously finished work.
