Default Macdougall

whats up suckers

so you guys probably didn't think i would find you here, but find you i did. i didn't really have to look to hard either. but this place is like freakin fort knox, yo. its hard to break in, but you can do it. so i titled this thread MACDOUGALL because i know that weasal is still around, still causing s**t, most likely. and obviously, he is going to read it. actually steve thats not really true. i'm not seeing a lot of that old fire, personally. pretty sterile in here, no? not sure about the others. it pains me to not use expletives of course, since back in the day on usenet there certainly weren't a bunch of dudes monitoring all the posts. remember, stevie boy? what fun we had. there certainly was a lot of swearing. you once called me "motherf**k". this was because i called jerry garcia a heroin addict or something. you can still check this stuff out on dejanews, you know. some old faves are there, the chris small, the bassplayer whatever, you know. you can live for the past, since thats what's going on here anywhere. back in 1996 i decreed that fleetwood mac hadn't really put anything decent out since tusk. here it is, almost 10 years later. i am still correct. how does it feel to be 10 years older? i wonder. but really, how does it feel to still be correct after 10 years? and to know that when it all started, there was no chance of a reunion. funny how things happen. when i first got on this bitch, it was brand new. 1995, although al gore might tell you otherwise. the first person i ran into was old mac doug. hanging in dayton. doing his thing. playing tuba. now apparently he has some sort of fetish for things that are canadian. steve. not.sure.what.thats.about.com check it.
anyways, so where is the s**t disturbing. the arguing. all im seeing here is a bunch of nonsense like why is lindsey selling his house or what is your favourite fleetwood mac song. seriously? thats it? anyways.
i would put one of those yellow heads that smiles here , but that is mad f ing lame. i've never used one and i'm not about to start now. can you really not swear here? is that because of like a massive senior citizen tour that happpens here now that all our parents know how to use the internet, finally? after all this time. its only been 10 years. you can't just put stuff up. you have to register, log on , pass a test and totally lie.
so macdougall i have not driven through dirty dayton or dirty ohio since the year of 1999. however i have seen your most prized resident, kim deal play the bass here in canada several times since 1999. she is my favourite ohion (ohian?). then there is this massive divide. then you. but be assured that i am around, i am knowing that you are sitting at home, thinking about fm lists you can make, mp3s you can rip, and just thinking. thinking about what dave mason is having for brunch (if anything), what bekka bramlett looks like naked, and whether bob weston got a good night's sleep. we are on the same planet at the same time, so don't forget that. look up steve and you will see what i see. try to liven this **** up, because this place is maaaad boring, guy. see you in another few years,or longer, if we make it. cause this was a *lot* of effort, to come out of retirement like this. i had to fill out forms and stuff. thats dedication, baby.
oberman, don't come that close again. i trust you. don't blow that s**t. on email or otherwise.

It seems to me on a Fleetwood Mac message board you are supposed to talk about music, what you like, what you dont like..etc.. There is a chit chit forum on this site for anything else like politics, sex, religon or whatever suits your fancy that day and you feel you would want some feedback on. oh wait that's lame.

Hehheheh. . . . He's not really trolling. He's an old-timer from . . . old times. He has an excellent musical outfit in the Toronto area called Beef Terminal:

http://www.noisefactoryrecords.com/beef.htm

It's very blissy, ambient music with unusual sound effects (like conversations & breathing). My favorite is a track called "enter & leave with nothing" which is on The Grey Knowledge.

He might post here again, but my hunch is that he won't. He was probably just seeing what the hell the "Ledge" is, in his inimitable way. He steps back & characterizes things that others are sometimes too close to. The guys who post on his forum read things like Northrop Frye & Philip K. Dick. It doesn't get much cooler than that.

Hey, I just thought of something: Mike, "enter & leave with nothing" pretty much sums up this thread!

Edit: He does love "Tusk"!

Talking

That guy reminds me of the blonde dude with the ponytail in "Good Will Hunting" that got told off by Matt Damon. Remember the dude spouting his learned rhetoric at Ben affleck's character? Great stuff. Someone wanna do that to this guy?

I've been on AMFM for like 9 years(although it's pretty much dead now), and I have no recollection of who this guy is. I started to defend Steve(last night), but then figured that this guy knew him, and was just f*cking with him, so I did nothing. It's kinda odd that Steve's not replied, though....

Troll's are a dime a dozen. Just check out Christine's site!

David... I just wanted to say "thanks" for posting this link. This is great stuff. I AM adding Grey Knowledge to my collection. Definitely something to nourish all of the senses. Her Eyes Turn Black reminded me a bit of something off Disintigration by The Cure.

NEPO

Go figure. You'd show up on during the weekend I was at a big hockey tournament and when the Ledge gets shut down for a few days.

But of coure! I wouldn't want to completely change.

Well, it HAS been ten years since I first started posting, so I have mellowed a bit. Plus, I've found other outlets for said fire. In any event, I try to be somewhat toned down here, as this is a privately owned board with some rules. I try to be the kinder, gentler MacDougall. Still, I tend to have some fun at the expense of Chiffonheads.

Well, for me, "Tusk" was the last great one, but I think all of the others had great songs, mixed with filler. In other words, I still probably enjoy things that would make you cringe.

Well, the Tuba thing was over in 1993. Sadly, the Dayton thing is still pretty accurate.

Yep, I'm all into Canada. You should have been here earlier, when my sig was a quote from Trailer Park Boys. Although I must say, while I love the Great White North, Nickleback sucks, metric is confusing, and I still don't get the whole "zed" thing.

Well, after so long, there's really only so much to talk about. There's a lot of firey conversation, though not Mac related, on the Chit Chat board.

I use the emoticons if it really describes how I feel. My favorites being and I think the language is actually because of children viewing the boards. If you look around, the net has become much more restrictive. We were there during a golden age where it was pretty much anarchy. Now, like everything, it has to be family friendly.

She's good, though that last Breeders album sucked. Actually, my favorite Ohioan is Bob Pollard of Guided By Voices fame.

Not really. That USED to be true. It was very true a few months back, when I wasn't working and there was literally nothing else to do. These days, I'm very busy with work, doing a rewarding job that takes a lot of mental energy. And, when I'm not working, I'm usually watching the tube or going to a hockey game (I'm a season ticket holder, ya know).

Not so much any more. When I had the time and lack of responsibility, I'd ponder such things. Honestly, the whole Mason thing has run its course. As for Bekka, I still really love her voice, but I must admit I haven't been following her career all that much since she started doing the backing vocalist thing. I don't think I ever worried about Weston getting a good night's sleep.

So THIS is what it feels like to fall in love at first sight.. I do love you and I love old timers. I agree with you about the lists and Lindsey's house thing. Please stay.
