Default So, next Thursday...

...I'm giving a speech for my public speaking class (which I diligently put off until my last semester as an undergraduate ) on Fleetwood Mac. I'm going to introduce the band to all the seventeen-year-olds in my class who have no clue who any of them are. It's just a five minute speech. I've been trying to think of some of the more amusing/interesting stories about the band. There are just so many. I was thinking maybe y'all could remind me of some of the ones I've forgotten. What would you say about the band in an attempt to keep the attention of a bunch of teenagers who have no idea who they are?

Thanks in advance for any stories.

The violent encounter at the McVie house comes to mind. Be sure to bring out the blackness of Lindsey's soul.

I know I can count on you to say something nebulous, bizarre, and incomprehensible to me.

BWA HAHA! blackness? How dramatic.

Any of the stuff they talk about on the Behind the Music or the Classic Albums Rumours DVD would be pretty interesting.

i dont have any stories, and you probably have something such as this in mind, i would pick-up a 50pk of cds and make a copy of fm for them for handouts. i dont know if thats allowed at that school, but its an option that would probably peek the kids interest. maybe some fm playing softly in the background

The incident in New Zealand on the Tusk Tour comes to mind. When Lindsey was mocking Stevie on Rhiannon and kicked her on stage......

The McVie house story is definietly a good one too.

How about how they all slept with each other at one point and were doing all sorts of drugs. Some of the members went on stage drunk or high every night. That would definitely keep my attention.. I am 16 so I know how boring lectures can be.

Thanks to all of y'all.

The only thing I'm still questioning is the McVie house incident. Maybe it's something I've heard a million times but I can't make a connection. But it seems that despite all the time I've spent here and on other FM sites, I still haven't heard that story. I have read Mick's book, but I don't remember something like that.

Are y'all referring to when Lindsey decided to leave the band and Mick claims that he hit Stevie? I was under the impression that Mick fabricated the violent and interesting parts of that.
