Wow, thanks. You are the only one who said anything. I write all that, and it's ignored. As usual. Why do I bother?

The way that she says it is just so silly. "It has to, like, not live here." It's as if she's intentionally trying to sound ditzy. I chalk it up to her flakey charm, but it's still silly.

Have any of you guys seen the Sky News interview she did from around that same time?
If I get a chance I'll transcribe it this weekend. From what I recall it's pretty good.
yeah, there are 3 different interviews on this DVD. The second one is much cooler I think because shes in a big castle style room and talks about a lot of the songs, lindsey, her clothes, and lots of other stuff. This footage they keep showing is very cool because it looks like promotional footage done for that album that I have never seen before. She also wears all her stage clothes for these interviews.

So cool!!!!

That european show is probably Essen 90 which I will have on DVD soon. Or it could be Holland 90 on dvd which ill have soon too.

Of course. But it doesn't explain Berlin, which seems to be some random place she chose. Besides, I think the quote just sounds really silly, anyway.

I think it is so damned funny. The personification kills me. Like it has to "Not Live Here" as if the clothes would need to be fed and have their own bathroom. It illustrates how goofy she is. In a good way. Also, I say it to people all the time. I have told tenants before, "Dude, this crap on the bacony can't live here" or at work..."These tchotchke can't live on this shelf. They need to live on that sideboard." If Stevie says something that I say that cracks me up, it makes me crack up three times as hard.

Wow is right! This one blows me away.

Let's see if I can do this from memory coz I don't have it here:

"They're not lying around on the floor smoking dope thinking about the next record they're going to buy. The first thought on their minds is not "OMG, I have to run out and get Billboard and see what the number one record is......So we have to sell records to between.....10....and 27, coz that's who buys records these days......all the quick cuts on MTV (does shuffling thing with her hands with sound effects)"

Uhm, yes OKAY!
I especially like it when she makes perfect sense.

Strange how it reminds me of "Stand Back" though. . . .

Somehow the "not live here" part sounds like perfect, normal English
to me.
She's just simply saying that she needs to be separated from it;
that it's not always a part of who she really is.
She needs to keep it at a distance so it doesn't overwhelm her.
Perspective and all that. Just seems like a normal analogy to me -

God these are awesome! I'm sittin here thinking, "Please GOD! Just once, let me sit down with her, throw back some tequila shots, and listen to her spill it all." Because it's not just that her stories are freakin great, but they way she would tell them? Oh my god! I'd die laughing.

Hey!! Back off the insecurity throne, baby! That seat is already taken!

I love reading what you write - I just don't always have a witty comeback worthy of your post ready at hand.

I think he was like..."yeah, ok." Funny thing is...she makes the least sense in the Jim Ladd interviews. I think he just brings that out in her, which is good, because it shows how comfortable she is with him as an interviewer. I think that was the hardest quote I've ever had to transcribe from audio though. Seriously.
