She didn't seem the least bit distraught to me...and who knows why Sharon sang first? I'm sure it had something to do with soundchecking and nothing more....if you ask me, she looked quite comfortable and happy to be up there performing.

I don't know if she's been sexier on the Today show but David's thread with the Cal Jam photos are some of the sexiest, IMO.

I think Stevie's at her sexiest on Beautiful Child on the Live in Boston DVD. For some reason that song is just hot. Oh, and Sara on the 2004 tour was really sexy and romantic. God, I miss both of those songs. The Say You Will tour was the best.

Just to clarify - and can we please drop it now? -
there's a difference between being distraught
and saying, "oh F. this I don't feel up to it
and I'm going home."
She's done thousands of shows,
this was one of them.
The world would not have exploded.
I've seen dozens of performances over the years,
and I definitely felt that she rocked Stand Back as best as she could,
and that she put a lot into it and maybe even managed to have some fun.
Seventies-caliber Rhiannon, it was not.
Not by a long shot.
Wasn't even close to Live in Boston, in my opinion.
It's like a straight-A student suddenly getting a B, I feel.
Nothing too bad about it, but a B isn't the usual performance level.

I was enjoying the show but then she scrunched up her face and played air drums and I cracked up!! I had to rewind and watch it a couple of times - darn, she was cute then!

you continue to double talk your way out of this, which is fine... but again, you made it seem as if you "knew" something the rest of us didn't... when all it was, was pure speculation..

I thought that too. She was so confident and she kept talking and talking but mostly she just looked like she commanded the stage or something. She also seemed like she was having a really good time up there. Waddy looked like he was loving every minute of it and couldn't take his eyes off her during Landslide. Sharon and Jana? Could they be any more emotionless?

Speaking of Waddy...are those kids his or his wife's? I think I remember him saying in his Q and A that his wife already had the kids when they married and he is their stepdad. They were standing sidestage and look NOTHING like Waddy at all. (they are not that young anymore either) His wife is quite pretty too and seemed to totally be into the performance. Not to be mean but the kids are quite beautiful so I am thinking they are not biologically Waddy's but I swear he said that someplace. I was watching Waddy during Landslide and for a large portion of the song he was not playing...he seemed kind of awkward while Brett was playing..not really knowing what to do with his hands so he kind of pounded on his guitar with his fist the way LB does.
Out of all the men onstage last Wednesday, Matt Lauer was the one Stevie had the most chemistry with. They did some whispering, she rubbed his upper shoulder as they were whispering and honestly Matt looks like he adores her. He made a few comments to her about how gracious and charming she is and Stevie pretty much ate it up. I think Matt is notoriously a player in NY...

Hey. isn't he in the process of getting a divorce? I never cared for him even when he was on here in Providence about 20 years ago.

It was 8:30 in the morning!! Musicians don't perform at 8:30 in the morning. Especially ones who go to bed at 5am. Like Stevie. Jesus - give the woman a break. You seem to be the only person here who thinks she was anything but fabulous. 70s-style Rhiannon? She hasn't given a performance like that since the 70s - and I highly doubt anyone expects her to. She did Stand Back in 2005 style - and she kicked some major a$$ doing it.

As for the kids by the stage... I was wondering if they were Katie's? I have absolutely no clue how old her kids are, but I thought the girl (who looked to be about 16?) looked very much like her.
