I thought a couple of them sounded dishearteningly similar to ones on Silver Lining, but I didn't think any of them were awful. I actually like Crooked Crown a lot. Guess there's no accounting for taste. ![]() [EDIT]: Trinkets grates on my nerves a little bit. Last edited by markolas; 09-14-2005 at 05:32 PM.. |

I find "Crooked Crown" unlistenable; it's an absolute mess. Those processed vocals, the self-conscious funk, the trite lyrics, etc. Not to mention that it sticks out like a sore thumb.

If people are wondering why something as mediocre as "Good Is Good" was picked as the single, it's because it represents 99% of the album very well. Except the actual album is much slower and filled to the brim with ballads.

Wow, Brian that is out this week? I guess that I will have to pick that up along with The Elizabethtown Soundtrack this weekend. |

I like Sheryl but I don't really like the "Good is Good" song and if the rest of the album is like that I probably won't like it either. "Good is Good" is just way to bland for me.

Have we all seen this? She has good music taste anyway.
Volume 64 Section: ChatterNo. 11 SHERYL CROW'S FAVORITE ROAD TRIP TUNES (Songs from her new album, Wildflower, will be on AOL Music Sessions starting Sept. 9.) 1. RAMBLIN' MAN by the Allman Brothers Band: "I can drive anywhere in America and feel I'm at home in southern Missouri." 2. LANDSLIDE by Fleetwood Mac: "I look at the world differently when I hear Stevie Nicks sing. The colors change." 3. DEAD FLOWERS by the Rolling Stones: "They made country music cool. They're English, but sound like every dirt road in the U.S." 4. EASY PLATEAU by Ryan Adams: "He's a real throwback to the old outlaws like Willie [Nelson] and Johnny Cash." 5. HIGHWAY 61 by Bob Dylan: "Self-explanatory."

Now that I've had this CD for a few days and had time to really listen to it I really enjoy it.I'm not so huge of a Sheryl Crow fan that I'm going to call a piece of SH*T a birthday cake either. This album works as a whole and takes repeated listens to sink in so I would have to say to those that obtained random tracks online and listened to them out of context to give the whole album a try .It is much more cohesive than either Tuesday Night Music Club or C'mon C'mon and while there are no fantastic singles that jump out at you it has a nice flow .Sheryl herself has said that she 'wrote the album for 'the huge population of people who are my age,who are asking the same questions 'Being a few months younger than Sheryl that may be why it actually resonates with me ,but then alot of her work does .I don't expect every album to be as brilliant as her epoynmous second album and Wildflower is not,but it does reveal it's pleasures over time.
