I do love Hendrix but I just had to vote for the Purple One!

Yes Sign O' the times IS a masterpiece I must admit. But I hate almost everything about the man: his posing, his attitude towards sex (when I look at that man OR listen to him I don't want to f*ck for a week!!.....Maybe even two weeks), and his total sell-out of his talents. The man plays bass like a madman, plays drums with so much funk you want to bite your arm off and what does he do? He uses sythesized discobeats and syndrums, uses alot of keys for bassounds and that total overdrived high voice makes me wanna throw up, because it lacks emotion. His writing's great though. Apart from the lyrics. And the overthetop baroqueness of everything is really disgusting for me. Hendrix invented what he copies in playing the guitar. He's great at it but incomparable to the master himself. Prince is 100 % a Hendrix-addict.

Maybe Romy, But Hendix is one of the most influential musical artists in the last 40 years, IMO. He fueled prince's influence, for instance .

I agree, but Prince had a more tangible influence on my approach to music since when I started buying records.

Romy

Prince it is....He has some kick ass songs. Songs to play on the jukebox and get drunk to.

OMG, we ARE soul mates! Wanna come over later?

I don't really care for any of them. Have to abstain.

This was a tough one to decide on because I like all of them but am not a huge fan of any of them. In the end I chose Lenny Kravitz and had three reasons for doing so:

1) I know more of his songs than those of Prince or Jimi Hendrix

2) I really enjoy his collaboration with Tom Petty (see "You Come Through" on Petty's Playback box set)

3) He has a really nice ass.

Electric Ladyland > Sign O' The Times. Enough said.
