Awwww! I loved it! I just watched my tape of the show - and then came and read the minute by minute coverage here. (Being locked out of my job right now has some advantages!) I thought Stevie looked great - sounded great - and said some really nice things in all the interviews. I mean, how frickin sweet did she look holding that dog? I was sure she was going to say, "I'm adopting this one!" And I loved what she said about the patients in Walter Reed - "no matter what you think about this war, don't forget them." Very good point. Glad Katie pointed out there are women in the hospitals, too.

The songs sounded perfect - Dreams at the end was definitely the version she sang during the commercial replayed. But that's okay. At least we got to see it. It's so funny that they plugged TISL before her appearence, and she sang Landslide from 1973, Stand Back from 1983, and Dreams, from 1975. But, every single person there practically was singing along... One can understand why she sings those classics over and over and over again...

I'm pretty sure I saw Brian (was that him in the orange shirt??) - but then again, I thought I saw Paula, too - but it would appear from her post here this morning she wasn't there! Oops. Is the girl from the front row a Ledgie? She looked very familiar, too. As did the woman with the baby. I'm jealous of you all!!!!!!!!!!!!

I set my DVR to record all three hours in high quality, so I am enlisting my Husband's help in editing out commercials, etc.. so I can put on DVD.

I am wondering if Stevie will visit Walter Reed again today or tomorrow since she is on the East Coast and all. Just a quick airplane ride or limo ride into DC.
I think it was cute that she talked about programming the IPODS and that she bought them with her own money and Jessie helped put her music on there that she likes and Stevie put her music on it. Stevie brought up the fact that it would be nice if IPOD(Apple) could donate some IPODS, but if they don't that is okay. Sounds like she is willing to keep buying them to send to the soldiers?
Has anyone in the DC area been to Walter Reed? I live in the Northern VA area and looked it up online. It is kind of hard to get to. Take the metro, then transfer twice using metro busses to finally get to the compound. Driving in would be a nightmare. Parking is very limited.

Yeah, she said "but that's okay if they don't, because I'll keep buying them!" About the ipods.
Her talking about Walter Reid was my favorite part.

They cut a little to Brooke Shields, who was listening & really getting into Stevie.

Who wants to join my "I Still Think Landslide Was Written In 1974" Club?

I don't know. I got all the songs, but when they cut away, they intimated that she would "be back later" to help talk about the pet adoption. I'm still waiting. But yeah, all the songs were before 9:00.

I too am really amazed that Stevie could get everyone together again on such a short notice. She looked happy singing again. Music does heal the soul and I wonder if it is helping her deal with her Dad's passing. Plus I am sure that being out there helping with the charity, etc... it keeps her busy and productive/creative.

They don't air the full performance of Dreams until the end of third hour.
