Constant basis? Define constant. People are talking about them as if they're a band that goes out on the road every other summer when in reality they go several years with nothing truly new to offer. The band as we know it now (with and without Christine) has only toured twice in the last 20 years - The Dance and Say You Will. Before that it was for 1982's Mirage.

But if someone is only seeing them once per tour, why is there a need for the band to constantly change their setlists?

If anyone is following the band around in this day and age, they have to know they're going to be seeing basically the same setlist at every show.
So why complain about that fact when it's our choice whether we go or not (or download the bootlegs or not)?

I don't want to sound bitter, but some of us don't even get to see one show per tour. So being sick of setlists is a foreign concept to me.
You might stand in that arena and roll your eyes and think, "Ugh, she's doing 'Edge Of Seventeen' AGAIN," but I'd be standing there thinking, "Oh my God, I'm actually seeing 'Edge Of Seventeen' LIVE!"

Amen.

I attended three shows on the Say You Will Tour, and yes they were essentially the exact same show three times, but was I annoyed? No. Why? Because it was great all three times and because there is the distinct possibility that those three shows are the only three Fleetwood Mac shows I'll ever get to go to.

If they tour again next summer I probably won't go. I already have plans that will eat up way too much of my finances to allow me that luxury as well.

I wouldn't know because I don't follow them around. It's a waste of money to do so when every show is the exact same as the last.

One would think that with such a catalog of killer songs, they'd do shows that reflected it. Throwing in a couple of new songs and one or two old chestnuts is great, but their problem is that they draw up a setlist and keep it for months. And they have a tendency to drop the new additions pretty quickly. It's pretty pathetic when you look at the ways in which their peers tour.

Define constant? The same sets for months and months and months.

After nothing for years and years and years.

What a winning argument. Not touring for years is no excuse for keeping the same exact setlist for ages with the same exact speeches and the same rehearsed movements and onstage pandering. It makes them look as if they don't really care to put effort into their tours.

Well, there you go then... what does it really matter if they played in Peoria the same songs they played in Boston, if you're not wasting any money to see the same setlist over and over?

They could do an entire show of unreleased tunes and it won't do any of us a lick of good if we weren't there to see it.

Three, if memory serves me correctly. The Boston taping (which I won tickets for), one of the Worchester shows, and the Mansfield show (which I was given a ticket to). I certainly wouldn't have gone to all of them if I had to pay for all the tickets.

Because I would pay good money to see numerous shows if they changed their setlists like countless other bands.

Boo f*cking hoo that you had to suffer through the same show three times when you only paid to see it once.

I never said I suffered, wiseass, I said I wouldn't have paid money out of my own pocket to see the same show three times. There's quite a marked difference.
