I didn't stay awake long enough to even be able to tell you what The Bridges of Madison County was about.

You know I loved it at the time when it came out. I saw it in the theatre and I believe half of the people there fell asleep but I was so into it. When I went back to watch it again recently I found it slightly boring but it's still a beautiful story. I'm such a sucker for chick flicks!

Did you guys see Angels in America? I heard such great things about it and I tried to watch it half way through the airing and it was very bizarre. Was it a dream sequence I saw or what (was she talking to a dead person?) I just could not get into it and it seemed horribly depressing.

I worked better as a play. I liked the mini series, but readily confess it was painstakingly long - The actors though were superb IMO.

What was the story line? Were there a bunch of stories going on at the same time?

It was sort of based on Jung's theory of synchronicity, which, roughly, is seemingly unrelated events simultaneously happening in a somewhat related way.

Here is an okay site with a plot summary

I watched about 25 minutes of the first part and it was so didactic and dreary I wanted to gouge my eyes out. I opted to change the channel. My bf was furious. He went home to watch it.

It stunned me that it won any awards. But, I never saw the play. Big surprise, Sparky didn't go see a play.

I loved Angels in America! And yeah, one of my favorite Streep roles as well...she even played a male rabbi, for crying out loud! LOL

You didn't miss anything, hon. Angels In America was the most overwrought, overrated, overachieving thing I've seen in quite some time. Mary Louise Parker was the only good thing about it, everything else seemed like a bad parody.

Al Pacino deserved a Razzie.

I thought he was hysterial - I mean he mirrored the guy who played the part on Broadway as that part, like the man, was created as a loud mouthed New Yorker. Interestingly. I thought the play bordered on hystrionic as well, but that was the point.

I saw the play, too, and enjoyed it much more than the movie. The histrionics work well onstage, but it's utterly laughable when the actors in the movie try to play it up as if they were onstage. Nearly everyone in that **** miniseries embarrassed themselves, it was truly a spectacle. It only won all of those awards because of the subject matter (those "Hollywood liberals" were creaming themselves over it), Mike Nichols, and because it had the likes of Al "I haven't given a good performance in nearly twenty years" Pacino, Meryl Streep, and Emma Thomspon in it. It didn't help matters that it came off as pretentious swill.

Default Trump & Melania expecting......

NEW YORK - Donald Trump's empire keeps on expanding, but his newest addition is on the home front. Norma Foerderer, a Trump spokeswoman, confirmed a report Tuesday that the 59-year-old real estate mogul-TV reality star's wife, Melania, is pregnant.

"The baby is due in the spring," said Foerderer, adding that the child's gender is not yet known.

It would be the first child for the 35-year-old model and commercial actress, who lived with Trump for three years before they exchanged vows in January.

Melania, who has appeared in numerous print ads and graced the covers of Vogue and British GQ magazines, is Trump's third wife. He has four children from his previous marriages: Donald Jr., 27; Ivanka, 23; and Eric, 21, with first wife Ivana Trump, and Tiffany, 11, with second wife Marla Maples.

Trump and his Slovenian-born bride were married in Palm Beach, Fla. The setting for their opulent reception was Trump's $42 million Versailles-inspired ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago estate and club.

The New York Post, which first reported the news about the pregnancy, said the mother-to-be planned to spend time recuperating at Mar-a-Lago after giving birth.

Trump's NBC reality show, "The Apprentice," is now in its fourth season.
