Walking backwards means just that. You face the person "meant to be respected" and you walk backwards. It's a sign of obeisance. The person facing you can see your eye contact, if you're properly averting your gaze, etc.

Hmmm. I stand corrected. I prefer the other way. SO much more fun.
Of course, anyone who would demand such 'obeisance" should probably be euthanized. Or at least clubbed repeatedly with a large, heavy, barbed instrument.

that is hilarious and you are so right! I think I read that she thought her ass was her greatest, uh, asset. If you've ever seen The Main Event you can really see the many closeups of it; also followed suit in some other movies.

That picture is from her Playboy photoshoot, which, like Stevie's, is one of my favorites of Barbra's.

Also used for the "Superman" album. I remember she really busted ass getting in shape for "The Main Event" and close ups of her bum were done every chance she got to aim it at a camera.
