Honestly Stevie should just stay home. It is not hard to see why she wants to stop recording....everyone has something they want and it is impossible to please everyone.

Warner Brothers is heavily involved with this fundraiser....perhaps they told her what to sing? Or is it just easier to bash her again for trying to do something good?

Another thing...how do we even know this is what she is actually going to end up singing? If I ever found myself in the position where the majority of what Stevie did either disappointed or bored me, I would find a new interest.

I am happy that she is lending her name to the cause. She could sit on her ass in her beach house and do nothing. The fact of the matter is she is trying to help raise funds for a disaster...she is not there to promote herself, a new cd, or to make her hard core "fans" happy.

Well said Kelly...but you know us..we have to praise/complain cuz that is what we like to do. Silly and petty? yes but we all love her just the same

I am just afraid that people are "over donor- over load" and have given to enough causes lately and won't be able, or won't want to give more money for yet, another relief effort.

We have been keeping in touch this summer and I have really been touched by her kindness and caring support. She is a beautiful person who lives out her Christian faith.

I don't live in Colorado, but man I wish I did! It is such a beautiful place -God's country. I am from Indiana. I think there is another Krista here on the Ledge board who lives in Kentucky.

Nice to meet you, Pattie! Take care!

All the best,
Krista
I am sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope that you are doing better. I have a friend in Colorado who likes to check out new bands, artists, etc not as an agent just as a fan. I thought that if you played in that area that I would let her know. Good luck with your music!

Seems like everywhere you turn, the news is bad. I think we're all on disaster overload.

Stevie Nicks is no Madonna... Madonna is an Icon and can turn horsecrap into liquid gold.. Always could, always will.. Stevie cannot and she knows this...
Quote:
I personally don't think Madge and La Nicks are even in the same category. Madonna is shock value with no real substance, IMO, I love her just the same, but to me, she can't stand up against Stevie.
Quote:
Comparing Stevie to Madonna is comparing chalk and cheese. They are 2 completely different performers. Not only different ages, but different philosophies about entertainment and the music industry.
Quote:
You really can't compare the two (well, perhaps a brief moment in 1983 you could), but i was responding to the "well if Madonna can do it, then why not Stevie" comment in an earlier post...
Quote:
For the recent Live 8, Madonna performed "Like A Prayer," "Music" and "Ray Of Light."

Hardly anything "new."
And while the latter two songs are among her more recent hits, it's due to the fact that Madonna actually has recent hits to choose from. Stevie doesn't.
It wasn't my intention to compare Stevie to Madonna - there really is no comparison. Different styles, ambitions, levels of determination and energy, etc... I simply chose Madonna for my comment because she was the first person that came to mind, and I had just finished looked at the thread about her new album cover. Golly.

And, I've gotta say, to no one in particular, but in fact to anyone who believes that negative criticism makes someone less of a fan - you are, quite simply, wrong. It is a fan's right to make choices and express opinions about the art they choose to admire. I find it very insulting - and I'm sure I'm not the only one insulted - when a negative opinion is deemed to be whining or complaining. It is even moreso insulting when someone who expresses a negative opinion is deemed to be less of a fan by their peers. As if there is a rank system or something. Blah. Blah. Blah. Whatever.

Yah know, it's WEIRD - I checked out her web site before I knew

anything at all about her, and my immediate impression was,

"omg - she's a CHRISTIAN, and she REALLY MEANS it!"

It just like, shines out of her, somehow!
