O.K. guys....I tried to post this under another thread so I wouldn't have to start a new one. They have predicted the eye of Rita to go over Port Arthur, Texas which is about 52 miles south of my town. We are out of the way of storm surge, but will be on the dirty side of the storm. Seriously, we have mattress lined up in the hall for protection from tornadic activity, strategically parked vehicles where the trees would have to take out the cars first, instead of the house. We have a generator, tons of water and food (we even found a case of MRE's that my son brought home from the military!) Twenty year shelf life....that kinda scary! Fire extinguishers, etc. I just needed to talk because I'm a little nervous. We've gone around the neighborhood to find out who is staying and where we will meet afterwards for moral support, extra food, water, shelter...whatever.
I really enjoy this little community (the Ledge) and have gotten much joy by being here....glad I found ya'll!

I hope everything goes well for you, and that you actually get to read this message sometime soon.
