We shall see though.
There's footage of him stumbling off the plane in San Diego.

I don't doubt he's drinking. I wouldn't be surprised if he's started tooting again, either.

That's a rather chilling piece of tabloid journalism.

His worried wife yelled at him: "Stop, George."
Even in his supposed moment of personal disgrace his life looks like a cheap soap. Anyway, I hope it's not true. He's already dumb enough when he is sober.

The rumour is that he doesn't toot but shoots.

What gets me is the codependency of the right these days. In five years, the only mistake Bush claims to have made is over NOLA, and the right are mad at him for taking responsibility for this! It seems that the right refuses to hold this guy accountable on any level, to admit the guy is human and has made mistakes. They act more like overprotective parents of alcoholics who do everything in their power to deny that their child may have a problem, to the point of deifying said child in a way he or she can do no wrong in their parents' eyes.

Say what you will, but left most certainly didn't do this with Clinton. If anything, the "liberal media" kept the story going, even when it was hurting the Dem president and when a majority of Americans said they didn't want to hear about it. Hell, the right was harder on Reagan, and they talk about him the same way Ohio State football fans talk about Woody Hayes. W is a lot of things, but he's NO Reagan.

In his own mind, he can do no wrong... why should his party be any different? New Orleans was the first time he's taken responsibility for anything in his life!

Speaking of his time as a young man in the National Guard, he has said: "One thing I remember, and I'm most proud of, is my drinking and partying. Those were the days my friends. Those were the good old days!"
What a dip! is anybody PROUD of their hard drinking days?

If this story is on the level (and I tend to believe it is) I almost feel sorry for him. almost. Im glad he seems to be cracking under the strain, it shows me that he's looking at things as they ARE, and not as he imagines them to be...I wonder where this little development will eventually lead? Will there be a divorce in the Bushwad family once his term is over? Maybe Pickles will come to her senses and get the heck out...
