So this is next to impossible, but I'm going to say Rhiannon, the studio version. Edge of 17 and Straight Back are tied for close seconds though.

Hmmmm, tough choice. I will go with Twisted. A close second would be Beautiful Child.

I love all versions of Crystal. Especially the Buckingham Nicks version. Stevie sounds fantastic on her version too. The lyrics are some of her best...very...sexual.

Small payback for your votes against Twisted in every, single, freaking round of non LP Survivor.

Thumbs up One song- Really only one??

So very difficult to choose just one!
I agree with everyone else that has stated :

When it come to Stevie and her vast array of written songs/performances;

different days,
different moods,
differnt tunes,

Ok deserted island- I would take Gold Dust Woman

her vocals are perfect-the mood is dark-it is Stevie in all her glory!

As mush as I love Storms, Frozen Love, Silver Springs (original) Designs of Love, Rhiannan, Outside the Rain, Sisters of the Moon, even Dreams, after listenening to Dreams 10,000 times- at least

Just one- would have to be Gold Dust Woman

The lyrics, the music, the arrangement, and her voice all make this song a true classic IMO. As someone said earlier the others versions are boring in comparision and don't convey nearly the emotion that this one does.

My very favorite part of the song is the last 1 1/2 minutes when it's just that particular guitar part (doo doo doo doo lol) and her beautiful voice singing "IIIIIIII turned around and the water was closing around me" doo doo doo doo. Sometimes I just listen to that part over and over. You know what part I'm talking about?
YES! I agree with eveything that you just said! I have played this song for many a "non-stevie fan" or a "never herd of her" or a "used to listen to her, but she changed styles in the 80's" and it has so far ALWAYS been met with a positive response. Then they want to hear more!
MMUUU--HA HA! (Laughs diobolically and twiddles fingers.)

I know exactly what part you're talking about... it's such a different arrangement for a Stevie song.. which is part of the reason why i like it so much.. the ending sorta drifts away, slowly, with the strings playing in the background... Ms. Crow did a fine job producing both of the PM songs, imo...

and yes, a PM Crystal appreciation thread is definately in order

I've had six pages of reading to choose a song but I cant so, count me in for the hat thing. Toss in Rhiannon (Live in the 70s), Gold and Braid and Somebody Stand By Me and let me know how it goes.

oh, crap, I'm already changing my mind and adding more choices...argh.....

I'm gonna go with Outside the Rain. She kicks ass on every live version I've heard.
