The trading pages number in the hundreds. The Ledge doesn't need a whole new forum to facilitate trading. But people here are always asking for MP3s or photos or video snippets or article scans, & a forum devoted especially to immediate requests that could be fulfilled via e-mail would be very useful. I know I'd use it a lot to post requests.

I kinda see your point with respect to the trading aspect. The mp3 idea is what I'm pushing really. A way to centralize...

So. It would be cool to have a Ledgie trading forum. I didn't say the MP3 thing was a bad idea, just that I'd use the trading board cause I don't download. I would assume if they did something like this it would be a bootleg forum in general so it wouldn't be restricted to trading or downloads. It could be anything to do with boots. THe bootleg bin on Nancy's site is like that. Some people post wanting trades, others post looking for mp3s.

Becky, I hear you because I am on dial up, too. I just a letter from AOL saying that it was now in my area but I needed to install something. No thanks. I'll pass.

I would rather get a CD or DVD in the mail then download it anyway. I can see the benefit of getting something right away online, however. No postage and no waiting so maybe at some point I will look into getting DSL.

Dial up sucks big time. I just can't afford DSL right now, or else I'd get it. I like trading the old fashion way. Getting a whole show at one time, DAO, that I can just pop in my car stereo or DVD player. I download everyonce in awhile when it's something special. I HAD to download Stevie doing Rock and Roll as soon as it was available. That held me over till I could get it on CDs

Sidebar, but still involving "new forums":

I think it would also be great if there was a Chit Chat forum specifically for music...a place where we can talk about other music besides The Mac. I'm not really interested in wading through the latest on "Survivor" or "How to survive a break-up" to get to "Who's seen the current Tom Petty tour?" I certainly think these things should be available to discuss for those who are interested, but it would be ideal if there was a seperation.

Anyone else?

Not a bad idea, but I think that would be a bit much. I don't know, I don't think it's that hard to see the threads I'm interested in. If you were to start a thread regarding a certain artist and it was being discussed, it would always be near the top of the page.
