This new one is just no grabbing me mostly because I am not fond of the vocal. Who knows - once I get the actual version of it, it may like it a whole lot better.

I rememner hearing it and thinking it was as well. I still think that a little, but the nego spiritual harmony aspect of the chorus and the lyrics are so amazing

Yeah fantastic. So can't you imagine some same development for Shut Us Down?

PS: the only song between SMAP and SUD that comes close in "touching-ness" is Bleed To Love Her. (imo)

Maybe SYD will grow on me.

As for Bleed to Love Her - I think it is brilliant and the guitar solo at the end is one of the best things he has ever done.

I think his prettiest though from SYW - Steal Your Heart Away.

Lord Child - that man did shine on SYW.

The Dance version? Brilliant, simplistic, and lush. The Say You Will version? Boring, stiff, and way too much noodling. Less is more in terms of that song.

I mostly cannot stand his Dance vocal, but the guitar work is great. In the end though, I like the ending of the SYW one better - that whining and pleading guitar just does it for me.

I like the SYW version better. The Dance ending....bleh...I don't like all those "Oh Oh Ohssss".

How can the same song differ that much in appreciation when it's done SO closely the same. It's just a brilliant touching composition. Every version. I like the GOS-version the most, but either one is a masterpiece in songwriting.
