Default Shut Us Down

Heard Lindsey's new track from "Elizabethtown"?

I was really blown away. Easily his best studio track in years.
Reminds me a lot of Springsteen's "Devils & Dust" album.
Really impressive.

How cool it is when one of your favorite songwriters and musicians finds themselves onto something completely new and fresh.

I feel like he finally pulled himself out of a rut. Almost like the Say You Will/Gift of Screws era is over.

It's his most touching track since Save Me A Place. IMO.

I think it's his most important track since "What's the World Coming To"

Beautiful especially live. But this song, as a studiotrack, has more warmth and is more vulnerable ( I did not know either that that was possible ) I described that in details in the shut us downthreads on lindsey's side.

And Come is fantastic, but I wouldnot call that song touching.

I LOVE SMAP - LOVE IT I say

This new one is just no grabbing me mostly because I am not fond of the vocal. Who knows - once I get the actual version of it, it may like it a whole lot better.

Well, I thought gerald would laugh because he would say: HEY, wait a minute!! There wasn't any song between What's The World Coming To & this one!!

I employ a type of humor that relies on an ironic trope of reversal or undercutting: an example of this would be W.S. Gilbert's comment on Beerbohm Tree's performance as Hamlet -- "Funny without being vulgar."

To me, this is the epitome of wit, irony & subtle devastation; it sounds as if it were exquisite praise until ... a second or two later, it explodes into perfect disparagement: what could be worse than a funny tragic hero?
