Of course, the last three were just to tick off the pro-lifers.

Who knew this thread would be so funny?

For the record, it wasn't Vanity Fair...it was GQ.

This topic comes up every now and then. Don spilled the beans about the abortion that she had sometime in the 70s when they were dating, to Vanity Fair in the 90s. Stevie confirmed it. Don said he thought that she named the child Sara and that's what the song was about, but Stevie never confirmed that.

And that's pretty much all that's ever been said about it since.

Does anyone know where I could find a downloadable version of the demo. All this talk makes me interested in hearing it.

Off topic, but this smiley is so annoying and overused:

This smiley face is rude!

This ledge is getting stranger everyday. Talking about abortions, lesbians, Stevie's 1001 relationships... I'd almost believe my page is becoming superfluous.
I'd almost like it here

Oh no... here we go again. Smiley complaints.

Smiley complaints are annoying.

The smileys are there for our use. Therefore, until the administrators see fit to remove them, those of us that like the smileys will keep using them.

I'm trying to find the actual quote, but I recall Stevie admitting to 4 abortions, and saying something like, now she would have 4 little Stevies at her feet and could read them stories, or something to that effect... I'll keep looking, but if anybody else finds it, please post it so I can do some work!

And, on the SYW album there is a baby breathing in the background of the song if you listen real good...

Just my 2 cents!
Hey.. this is actually in response to your Jennifer Coolidge..(is that her name?) picture... I recognized her from a episode of the Ellen show... dude I have never laughed so hard... she was talking about how she used to call in all the time at her old waitressing job... and her excuses kept getting more and more elaborate... one excuse was that she was at a party and someone put a cigarette out in her eye and she even wore an eyepatch to work and around town to make it look legit... and it ended up screwing up her vision...
dude.. this story stuck with me... so when I saw your picture I just about died with laughter..
Yeah I know.. this has nothing to do with Stevie's Abortions..goodness gracious... but I'm not the first person who has replied 'off topic'.
I apologize..
Ciao!

I have to agree with Strandinthewind....I have always interpreted the song this way.

I can't picture Stevie being dragged to the abortion clinic, although maybe she was talked into it. How many times have we had to hear her say she was talked into taking off her top for the Buckingham Nicks cover and regrets it to this day?? Makes her sound like she was young and gulliable and easy to manipulate.
